Chris , will bare that in mind and have a look at the Greddy ones

No doubt pricier though.

Mark

Yes mate .. pricier but better gauges mate.

Take my word for it. I had the autometer gauges and compared to Greddy ones there is no comparison.

I promise you.

And you know where to get both sets dont ya chaps ;) :)

I've got all my gauges from you Chris and have been v happy with them ...

And I wan't commission .. LMAO ...

Cheers Chris,

I've had loads of different gauges but like you i've stuck with my Greddys because as you say the quality is 2nd to non.

Quite right mate. I eventually got around to fitting your gauges myself. But I was in a hurry when I had the Autometer one's and asked my mechanic to fit a water temp one. He wouldn't even fit it. Said it was a piece of shit.

This doesn`t say a lot for Autometer gauges!

I`m going off them a bit now.

Oh well - it`s only money , as they say.

EHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Chris autometer are TRUE competition gauges had mine for a few years now and never had a problem with them,Boost,Water temp and Oil pressure.

Yea Mac I know they are true competition gauges, however I found that the water temperature gauge that I had (some models vary) LOL, it wouldn't give a good accurate reading as the sender unit was massive. I was guided here by my mechanic who said it just wasn't good enough. Not being a mechanic myself, I listened to the professional.

In the end I went for the Greddy water temperature gauge. Funnily enough I then used that for the oil temperature and bought some S7 gauges from the group buy for the water. Got there in the end :-)

TBH, I know that on the whole Autometer gauges are good value however the 'particular' gauge I had just wasn't up for the job.

Ditto, i sold Autometer gauges for the 1st 2 years i started selling on this board, the cash they are great value for money with not a single issue in the ones i sold, so all in all a decent gauge.

Greddy are also really good as are Apexi, downside is cost which can be quite high though quality is awesome.

Chrisp could have swore your gauge that was inaccuracte was an ACTecnic one ?

cheers

Hi Paul ... Yep you are quite correct re the ACTechnic gauge. I had trouble with it because it was using a different sender to the one issued with the gauge (which was quite alarming, as I thought my engine may be overheating. It was showing totally incorrect readings.)

Fortunately when you sent me the top rad pipe with the correct sender all was fine.

Autometer were the first gauges I had, and like I said, very good value for money.

anyone got any clues to why my brand new autometer gauge isnt working,i thought the best way to test is to touch the sender wire on a ground connection, and the gauge needle will flicker, but mine isnt

any ideas :(

As discussed mate, to have a 2 brand new gauges go after a couple of weeks would suggest that there is a problem somewhere. Did you check all the wiring ? i personally think there must be a short somewhere. You know i'll do what i can for you mate :)

i have checked chris all ground locations are fine live as you know is plainly for the ilumination for the backlit so it would be very difficult to short anything out

what il do is borrow someones and see if theres works ok,if it does then it must be the gauge :( il let you know me ol mate :)
