hi i am about to have a gearbox oil change on my autobox anyone have any reccomendations for preferably fully synthetic oil ? which i have heard provides a smoother change . :dance:

There are such things as fully synthetic ATF's for Autos.

What benifits would you gain if you did change to synthetic oil??

I used Dexron3 on mine (as recommended).

Had no probs at all, just get the level right.

You'll also need an oilpan gasket set/bolts. (£18 iirc).

Why do you need new bolts?

They come in the gasket kit :confused: ;)

Synthetic copes with heat better. We all know how much our auto boxes like to burn oil.

Better consumption, longer life and more thermally stable.

What about synthetic oil for manual boxes ? Are there any (cheaper) alternatives to Redline ?

I hesitate to say, but if the info is honest and reasonably un-biased why would it cause a scrap?. Surely its of interest to us all?

is there a filter in the Jap Auto g/box to change.......or am i thinking of another car?
