is it possible to bend the tube out slightly without damaging it

the reason i ask, is the strut brace brackets are too close to the (smithys) chrome dipstick,,,,may have to go back to the old one???? :(

problem is tizer IIRC i was watching jock put a new dipstick tube in,and as far as i know its an engine out job,as it runs directly to the sump,obviously if you bend it theres a chance it could snap,then you would wish you didnt bother :(
