Legalising German Spec 300zx TT for UK

I am returning to the UK from Germany and would like to bring my German spec 1991 TT back with me (even though there are no autobahns to play on! :cry: ).

 

Does anyone know what/how technical mods I have to make (lights, speedo etc) and the registration process?

    Don't think you've got a problem - it's a German spec (and over 10 years old) so won't need SVA - just MOT. http://www.motuk.co.uk/welcome.htm

     

    But have you thought about selling it in Germany and buying a RHD one here?

     

    I used to drive an LHD car (not a Z) over here and found it a PITA

    As regards buying a RHD version, your right however just trying to weigh-up the cost/hassle factor of bring mine over vs buying an "unknown"!!!

    I know exactly what you mean. But (mostly) you should be able to pick up a good one from a member here or at http://www.zclub.net

     

    I suppose you could bring yours over temporarily (I think you can for 6 months - info on the same link as before) while you locate the right LHD.

    Anyone any idea what I may need to do the headlights and speedo if I did go ahead and bring it over i.e.

     

    1. With the projector dip beam, is it a case of just repositioning them or do I need to get new units?

     

    2. Are the days of putting stickers on the speedo' over (mine reads to 280 km/h) and where could I source them?
