Went to wolverhampton once..... due to not looking ahead i was driving near the wolves ground just as a game finished, and it just so happened that wolves had won. So the streets were full of happy fans... each with a can or bottle of beer, kicking stuff over, just walking accross the road and stopping the traffic like we weren't there.. chanting and shouting, and just basically acting like moronic wasters who don't appear to have a life outside of their can of tennants... a bit further in there was a mass brawl with the other team's fans... 100's of police, ambulances, and even some fire fighters. THIS IS NOT NORMAL BEHVAIOUR! PEOPLE WHO BEHAVE LIKE THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED FREEDOM TO **** UP THE WORLD WHICH SO MANY OF US WORK SO HARD TO MAKE RIGHT. and the source of the problem? FOOTBALL. QED.

and also i don't watch the game, but you can't get away from it anyway....watch the news and an ever increasing proportion of the news is FOOTBALL, read the paper.... again FOOTBALL, go to the pub and whats on the big screen surrounded by drunk morons.... you guessed it.... I used to be a season ticket holder at Man Utd and bear in mind they have the largest crowds so in your theory has the most morons and in the 3 years i went never saw any kind of mass brawl, in fact mainly families, kids etc

Thank you pulsay. I can see Kirbz and myself are going to end up in a full blown argument and resulting in one of us being kicked (most likely to be me :( ) so i'm gonna calm down. When a foul is committed in football the whole nation riots and even the players fight each other. In rugby the same foul and the fans talk about who's foul was better after the game, nice and civillised and gentlemenly (spelling??). It almost seems to me that you have to be a football supporter to be a chav.... or vice versa....???

I think you live in your own little world mate i cant make it to many football matches or rugby matches anymore but regularly watch them at a pub etc and all i can say is you must live in a really rough area because i have never seen a fight over a football match....ever???

That's all i was refering too. I do live in a reasonably rough area, nothing particularly different from most 'rough' places. Cricket is one of those games you either hate (like moi) or love...... i dont know anyone who 'kinda likes' cricket or 'doesn't mind' it. I think you're mistaking 'fights' on the rugby pitch for a 'game of rugby' on a rugby pitch.

TBH football is a waste of time.

not anyone on benefits..... those who take the piss... I.e those who are prefectly capable of getting a job, the work is available but they are just too damn lazy.... and those who work AND claim benefits they are not entitled too. Nah, didn't see the game, saw this thread when i got to work and looked on BBC news to see what it was about. Just noticed that there was a paragraph bout shearer not being impressed thats all. I can imagine why though because this kind of behavior doesn't reflect well against him even though it probably had nothing to do with him. Such is life though !

I hear you all say thats f*ck all for a footballer but we all live to our means and if i was fined 6 weeks of my wages i would be in sh1t creek without a paddle!! he's on about £30k a week so thats £180000 and i dont car how much you earn thats alot of dosh to lose...saying that if it was any other job he would have got the sack so why didnt he?

 

And why i am on a rant about footy i feel for Rio Ferdinand!! i was reading last week that about half a dozen players from AC Milan refused to take a drugs test!! not forget!!
