I just installed my dumpvalves and there is no sound coming out of em. These are the ones they are

I rev the motor up and all i hear is the air filter making that lovely sound but no dumping. Could anybody tell me what i may have done wrong.??

Baz and me fitted on last week to steve's Z ,make sure u pick up the correct wire on the ECU, i think there is a color change, go by the numbers not the colors, if i'm right the tacko is yellow and red not green from the FAQ.i'm on 07739576906 chris

Thanx to cris iv got it sorted they needed to be cut to 4 ad 1/2 inch mate cheerz guys they sound WICKED! iv got one allowing the air to release slowly whilst the othr releases quickly pretty sure they used these in fast and furious or if he didnt they should have!!! Thanx for all the input guys and cris your a star mate!!

 

Who said automatics sound crap with em on heeheeh im going out to scare the granny`s :dance: :dance:

they should release at the same time, not sure its a good idea to have them different

the fact that dont make a noise is a blooming bonus IMO

so how long were the springs that were supplied with the kit, and how long is the vac pipe been extended by?

they were long approx 7inch so i cut em both and the vacs have been extended by approx 3-4inchs both sides they sound like a dream defo like em! hope that helps paulbrem

hi can anyone help have just got a 1990 tt manual in silver with 18,s on when igot car there were two kn,s and two turbo xs blow off vavles in a box. do blow off,s work the same as dumps and where do they fit???????

they are the same BOV's are dump valves and depending what type the fit where the recirc valves are

Knew should of heard more although I was driving pretty tame :rolleyes:

I thought the spring were massive you get shims with them to make stiffer but I had a feeling that they would be too stiff without shims.

Ones off ebay yes came within a week.

I thought they were worth a try at that price.

I double that . Paul yor aim is to get the springs at the length Cris aka "KRSMAYO" says which is 4 and 1/2inchs long . Let me know if there is anything i can do.

 

I also bought the ones off ebay from the U.S the only problem was i paid 35 dollars for them to leave the U.S and another 25pounds for them to be delivered to my house.

Lofty44: Both Blow offs and Dump valves are the same thing they fit where the re-circ dumpvalves fit which are located in the bottom half of your front bumper. They will be on either side of the K&N filter (s) you say you have but in order to gain acess to them you must unbolt the top two nuts holding the middle plactic piece in between you main lights.

xcapade, rookie question for you if you dont mind. I'm about to buy a set of those maxspeed blow off valves myself. Could you tell me if they were easy to fit? did they come with instructions? also, where are the springs located that i need to cut down to 4.5 inches? thanks in advance

they are a 15min job to fit if you have a cone style air filter if not you have to get the air box out anther 15mins on top. to get to the spring, just unscrew them and they should pop out, mind ya eyes lol

lol thanks krsmayo, can you recommend you a pair of cone air filters which can be bought at a reasonable price?

Sorry about Delay dadypain. They are very easy to fit expect to part with another 25 quid to have em delivered to you when they reach the uk due to the weight. As krsmayo says they are located where the air filter is. If you want and if im not to busy id be more than happy to help you fit them in as Cris "krsmayo" once offered.

Check out my engine pics in my rides.These Bovs are exactly the same as my TuboXS ones except mine have a horn shaped outlet which wont make a differance to its performance.Mine are awsomeley loud.There a bargin at that price and should work fine with no alterations except adding or subtracting washers so they dont open to soon. I agree, they sound awesome on an Auto, love lifting off as you're approaching a bunch of people *pshhhhh*, they all look round, then give them a blast of the Mongoose as you go past them lol I'm such a chav... :rolleyes: :p

 

I love the way you get a different sound depending on how much boost you have on as you lift off too
