No, not anything female related, I sold my Zed to one of my close friends about a month or two ago, and man do I miss driving it... I sold it mainly due to the fact that I could stop being a lazy git and walk the 20 minutes to work, and we sold the Astra GTE as well, to get a Citroen Xantia TD for my wife's daily commute to work, and dropping down to a one car family to save money.

 

But now the Sun is coming out, and after walking all the f****** time I really want it back :(

 

Anyone else sold recently and is now regretting it?

 

I've seen two that I would love to own that have come up for sale on here, and I've been SO tempted to come round with the cash and drive them away, but alas the wife says a big fat NO... :(

 

My brain says it was a good financial decision, but my heart and soul is screaming for that feeling of driving a Zed again. With the tops off, the stares and smiles from the pedestrians and other drivers, the sounds of an Alpine system pumping out your favourite tune, the knowledge that you can blow away that arrogant Porsche driver who just cut you up on the roundabout, the sheer godamn fun of drifting in the middle of the night, just because you can...

Been driving the wifes TD Xantia all week too and now the suns out i wish i bought my car to work today for the drive home. Darn, ohh well ill have to go out in her tomorrow LOL

Analysis,

Right or wrong?, 1/you and your wife made a decision that had concequeces for you alone, this decision would have been suggested by her and justified by the fact it saves money,2/ you have serious thoughts that you have made a poor decision in allowing it to happen, but console yourself with the fact it is sensible, 3/you also feel it would be selfish of you to purchase another and ask your wife in the hope she will see you are unhappy, 4/you have a family, so you go with safe bets, passion is not allowed.5/ you desire being something above the norm and miss the fact the Zed makes you someone, you hate people that flaunt money and power, and hate not being able to poke them in the eye, 6/ you miss the exhileration of driving fast with the wind in your hair and control over enough power to stop a fire engine.

conclusion

You have started doing sensible things in order to provide for your family, you provide your wife with comfort and security, in turn this makes you feel comfortable, your family is safe and protected, of course you are a man and are able to look after yourself, eventually you will get used to it, so you try to supress those feelings.

Outcome 1 and 2

1 This will all go away and you will continue to live happily ever after.

2 You end up hating your wife for taking away your freedom, testroserone, and genitalia :eek: , you end up falling out because you are the only one making sacrifices, end up in court loosing the house, car and family, regretting that you ever sole the fooking ZED! :headvswal

Dave - that was quality and yes Yaseen, you are right my man. How peeved am I, but don't worry son, I'm coming back with a cheap to run alternative. An NA! Not as fast but looks just as good and costs less than half to maintain!

 

I will see what the next 2 months hold for me at my new company and see what happens.

 

But Kay, I did it for family reason and those reason have now passed. If you are told you are not allowed to have a Z, I would stick 2 fingers up and do what you want, that's my philosophy anyway.

well me zeds been in getting a few bits done for a few weeks now and worked out ive spent over 12k on her since oct last year , let alone buying her which was another 4.5k !!! so at least u dont have the financial drain the old zed can have !! But sayin that i wouldnt swop her for anything !! LOL

You caught me lol I must admit I'm very tempted... I'm off to see it on Sunday, wish it was a Manual but ah well, you can't have it all eh? I must admit it was a bitch to drive around town in slow moving traffic, an Auto would be a lot easier to live with... plus I bet the kickdown on a good running Zed feels awesome, you can't get that in a manual I suppose... :wack:
