think im gonna stop working and have the easy life. free house, money, car, phone ect.

All paid for by the working while I sit on my arse all day smoking and getting pissed. sounds like a plan to me.

**** that, although the easy life would be nice, my pride and principle prevents me from doing that....although the girl downstairs earns more a month than me in cash in benefits and on top of that has her rent and utilities paid for.... :(

its to my mind a kind of enforced/state charity...lots of folks are only too happy to give to those less well off or in need all over the world (including animals)...the best thing to be said is at least its for those here at home

I know of two kids locally that are PAID to go to school FFS !!!!!

What is this place coming too ????

It's indicative of a complete loss of any idea of what is right and wrong ! I'm not saying that the Tories and right wing policies are neccessarily perfect but New Labour socialism is a joke !

In the news today it has cost us £1billion to part privatise the London Underground ! WHAT ????? HOW ??????

It doesn't make any sense these days no matter how you look at it all.

Just my tw'penneth worth......

I'm quite happy to provide for those who have a genuine reason for not working (eg: health probs) but I resent paying out for lazy, worthless scum who spend half their benefits on fags. Ship 'em off to do national service or bring in enforced family planning to stop the barrage of young, single Mums who are now struggling to bring up the next generation of social scroungers...

It's a vicious circle and it's not getting any better...

Rant over..

the whole thing is a little bit of history repeating...there have been many moral panics about the poorest in society and how much they cost/sponge from the better off...the reality is £13bn of state help currently goes unclaimed by those entitled to it every year by a combination of bad training, impossible forms and being fobbed off...compares very well to the fraud which is estimated at £1.5bn...most of which is committed by rings/gangs working inside the IR/DWP/Local Govt etc...the taxpayer is £11.5bn up.....happy days..:D

I wanna be Frank outta Shameless...my role model!!! PMSL

Just because the tax payer ia £11.5bn up doesn't mean that lazy layabout chav scum uneducated thick council scroungers should have an easy life though does it? I appreciate your point twinpier however i think that we could save another £11.5bn forcing unpaid national service.

I wanna be Frank outta Shameless...my role model!!! PMSL

Class !

Funniest person in that is the kid with Tourettes - he's brilliant.

I work in a collge mate where everyone who studies is post 16 and on this EMA i believe it's called. £30 per student per week! Shocking! There are 2800 students in Stafford College alone claiming that.... thats £3.2m of the tax payer's money a year to just this college (based on a 38 week year for students) just so these chav scum reprebates have an excuse to NOT get a job... most of them have attendance of less than 70% AND about 45% of students actually achieve a qualification they can use when they leave college.....p155E5 me off ! As far as I'm concerned they can all **** off :headvswal

its worth pointing out just like in 300zx engines/power stations/physics (and money/economies) there is waste...and sometimes undeserving atoms/people get this waste for free at our cost...peversley the drive to reduce waste (or layabouts) can often cost more money than it saves...it will never be 100%...there are some parodoxies which would best describe this but i'll be dammed if i can type them...my fav is the £1bn we spent on the recent gun law by going for the lawful gun owners whose guns only accounted for 1% of all gun crime...i would have preferred it being spent on chasing the crims with unlawful guns who account for 99% of gun crime...heres an idea maybe employing more police?

The way I see it is that all of us have seen and heard things that have annoyed us when it comes to issues of tax and unemployment, etc.

I work for EDS(but I'm leaving in 14 days - woohoo), and we look after the IT infrastructure for the DWP, and as such, I get to hear stories from people who use to work on the front line. Some you would not believe:-

An ex-boss of mine was once interviewing a bloke for the re-justification of his dole money. Something to do with him not looking for a job when he was suppose to. Anyway, she cancelled his dole and off he went. Within a few hours she got a phone call from CID telling her to re-instate the dole money because he was the leader of a drugs ring and they didn't want anothing out of the ordinary happening.

That's just one story and it's a minority that it happens to but the main areas where I think the government should crack down on are such single mothers posing as single, but are really with someone. Hence, free house, and banefits gallore. Or, single mothers living in thier boyfriends house and renting the council flat out on a cash basis.

I was a uni student but I worked in the last 2 years of my 3 year course because I had a car(suprise) to run. However, it pisses me off so much when I see students on TV protesting because they can't afford to study.

This may not go down very well with students but I don't see anything wrong with working whilst at uni. Gets you ready for the real world if you ask me. I watched an episode of Trasha! once on this subject and there was a girl who said that she had made £10k of dept in the first year. How the feck did she do that? and she still had 3 years to go. I made less than £5k of dept in 3 years and I was running a car. and my grant was peanuts because at the time, my parents were earning a salary.

If you ask me, uni as about 90% socializing and 10% studying. i.e. 90% dept and 10% economising. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with solising, but I think it's a good thing that the government has stopped the grant system. It will make students study harder and take more notice of what's going on around them. We take the piss out of the yanks but I belive that they have a healthier attitude when it comes to studying!

I also believe that national service should be more prominent for long term unemployed people and mild criminals and what I have seen, the DWP is heading in the right direction when it comes to getting tough with "Can't be bothered to get a job" lay abouts.

Ok - I'm done, who's next!

Surely that's why we employed folk pay tax so those who choose not to work (bless them all) don't have to. :headvswal

Seriously though, I fookin hate these scroungers - they're a curse on the land.

I also think Government insiders line their own pockets via the Export Credit Guarantee and selling arms to corrupt regiems in the third world.

We take the piss out of the yanks but I belive that they have a healthier attitude when it comes to studying!

Cos i'm gonna take issue with this bit...the rest is well made...:)

in the last decade california managed to fund and build 13 new prisons but didn't add a single college place in the same period...!

ok...i'm out now...got a cab to drive....:D

scarey statistic and I'm sure it's 100%, but what I meant was that youngsters seem to have a healthier attitude, not the government over there.

Maybe I'm wrong there too! Maybe it's just a stereo-type I've fallen for!

although it doesnt sound as 'good' as CHAV, I think the new in-word NEET (not in education, employment or training) sums the little parasites up very well. Give them a year, then put them in Baghdad. Next :)

this country is screwed up, all we ever do is bend over backwards for minorities, and when the minority actually becomes the ones who are working earning and contributing to the economy, whos gonna bend over backwards for us? there is no incentive in this country to work any more. i bet if the government turned round and said if you dont work, you dont get squat, thousands of them would find a job. im bursting my arse to pay for a pension for people who only screwed up the country, closed the mines, ship building industry, steel mills, manufacturing plants, car plants, you name it, this country had it or made it, now what have we? nothing, im 20 and in 35 yrs time whose gonna pay my pension? no one, cause the retirement will be about 80 by then, and there wont be enought money to go round. this country is doomed, big time, until something gets done. they should round up every one that CAN work (i have no problem paying for someone ill or disabled etc dont get me wrong, thats what the systems there for and id like to think someone would look after me if i was ill) and get hem chipping brick sweeping streets, picking litter, anything, but paying for them to sit on thier ar** and end up having a bigger telly than me without working for it is wrong.

phew glad i got that off my chest!

So what do think will happen in May then, Mr Howard in? I think it will get very nasty for Labour in the next 4 weeks.

LOL Sums it up nicely.....

The Reality of Blair's Britain..........

Nelson preparing for battle, Year of Our Lord 2004.....

"Order the signal, Hardy."

"Aye, aye sir."

"Hold on, that's not what I dictated to the signal officer. What's the meaning of this?"

"Sorry sir?"

"England expects every person to do his duty, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious persuasion or disability.

What gobbledygook is this?"

"Admiralty policy, I'm afraid, sir. We're an equal opportunities employer now. We had the devil's own job getting 'England' past the censors, lest it be considered racist."

"Gadzooks, Hardy. Hand me my pipe and tobacco."

"Sorry sir. All naval vessels have been designated smoke-free working

environments."

"In that case, break open the rum ration. Let us splice the main brace to steel the men before battle."

"The rum ration has been abolished, Admiral. Its part of the government's policy on binge drinking."

"Good heavens, Hardy. I suppose we'd better get on with it. Full speed ahead."

"I think you'll find that there's a 4 knot speed limit in this stretch of water."

"Damn it man! We are on the eve of the greatest sea battle in history. We must advance with all dispatch. Report from the crow's nest, please."

"That won't be possible, sir."

"What?"

"Health and safety have closed the crow's nest, sir. No harness. And they said that rope ladder doesn't meet regulations. They won't let anyone up there until a proper scaffolding can be erected."

"Then get me the ship's carpenter without delay, Hardy."

"He's busy knocking up a wheelchair access to the fo'c'sle, Admiral."

"Wheelchair access? I've never heard anything so absurd."

"Health and safety again, sir. We have to provide a barrier-free

Environment for the differently-abled."

"Differently-abled? I've only one arm and one eye and I refuse even to hear mention of the word. I didn't rise to the rank of admiral by playing the disability card."

"Actually, sir, you did. The Royal Navy is under-represented in the areas of visual impairment and limb deficiency."

"Whatever next? Give me full sail. The salt spray beckons."

"A couple of problems there too, sir. Health and safety won't let the crew up the rigging without crash helmets. And they don't want anyone breathing in too much salt - haven't you seen the adverts?"

I've never heard such infamy. Break out the cannon and tell the men to stand by to engage the enemy."

"The men are a bit worried about shooting at anyone, Admiral."

"What? This is mutiny."

"It's not that, sir. It's just that they're afraid of being charged with murder if they actually kill anyone. There's a couple of legal aid lawyers on board, watching everyone like hawks."

"Then how are we to sink the Frenchies and the Spanish?"

"Actually, sir, we're not."

"We're not?"

"No, sir. The Frenchies and the Spanish are our European partners now.

According to the Common Fisheries Policy, we shouldn't even be in this stretch of water. We could get hit with a claim for compensation."

"But you must hate a Frenchman as you hate the devil."

"I wouldn't let the ship's diversity co-ordinator hear you saying that sir. You'll be up on disciplinary."

"You must consider every man an enemy who speaks ill of your King."

"Not any more, sir. We must be inclusive in this multicultural age.

Now put on your Kevlar vest; it's the rules."

"Don't tell me - health and safety. Whatever happened to rum, sodomy and the lash?"

As I explained, sir, rum is off the menu. And there's a ban on corporal punishment."

"What about sodomy?"

"I believe it's to be encouraged, sir."

"In that case ............ kiss me, Hardy."

Mmm I might get a job as a drug dealer, I hear it pays well, The benifits are good and you get as much paid holiday as you want!

Hope so, but I doubt it :headvswal

Honestly, when I saw the tax and NI totals on my P60 this year I felt like I'd bought the fekking country rather than contributed to its running.......

Then I think of the tax I (and the rest of us here) pay on fuel and......... :mac1:

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

ye and it doesnt end there: VAT @ %17.5 on all 'non-essentials', tax on savings, stamp duty, capital gains, inherritance tax. pluss your employer pays a national insurance contribution for you too,and they have buisiness tax. scary sh**! it always makes me laugh when i see free flights "fly for free if you pay the tax" and i was scunnered the day when i had to pay for a dental check up!! mad!

I wonder, if they paid benefit in kind eg, put all the people in need of accomodation in the disused army barracks (apparently, even tho Blair the Bitch keeps kicking off in Bush's name, we dont needan army), and supplied them with three squares a day (nothing posh, but maybe Jamie would do a turn) and clothing (nothing with a label), no extras like fags or booze, mobiles or dogs, cars or bling (and defo no burberry) put bromide in the tea and contraceptives in their cornflakes, would people learn a work ethic? or have I been shaving my head too long? :)
