Kept looking to see an endless spec list...........guess what it ended!

Think their dreaming personally! ;)

only in his dreams. Don't get me wrong it's a nice motor but to start at 10G is dreamin. Co-incidentally it's the same company who are askin 25G for a blue convertable with 500bhp(alledgidly) you'll have to excuse the spellin - bin on the vodka all nite!!

Complete *****x to that, low mileage seems odd? probably been clocked all its life!!! if it hasnt, the fact its not been driven since 1996 is bad I think. Drove once a year to the MOT centre? :O thats enough to kill a car.

No telling what its history could be, for all we know the 15k mileage if genuine could be race miles on a track!

6.5-7k maybe, not 10k+

Just thought lol, my car has 111k more on the clock than that one  lmfao

Yeah my thoughts exactly.

I`m afraid I was A bit cheeky and sent the guy a message saying I would bet him he never got a bid - no answer as yet. If you see a zero user bid you will know he`s put a bid on himself.

Mark

Ok so it seems alot but fair play to him I say, if you dont ask you dont get, if a Z lover has got the money they'll pay it I reckon. You guys should'nt be slagging him off, dont you want decent Z prices?

my thoughts exactly trev

I see this worth the price in two ways,

If it had a list of top spec stuff on it, then maybe, but over 10k (as thats just the starting bid) for a pretty much stock Z, and the wheels etc arnt even very nice is just silly. We all want better selling prices for our cars, but, one guy putting his car up for a silly price isn't going to make any difference, so in the here and now that price is silly.

Id rather pay 7k for a top-top spec Z that would be newer, probably have a rebuilt engine to a better spec, and lots more goodies.

If this car was showroom condition, i.e factory everything and not modded at all, then it may stand a chance a lot more as a collectors car or concourse car, but as it is, it's a poorly modded, Z and the only thing it has going for it is low miles, but I would rather own a car that has been used than have very low mileage, infact un natural low mileage for an old car. You guys must know yourself, dont use a Z and it will give you more troubles next time round when you decide to use it, same with any car.

it looks like a noce car but i doubt it would sell for £10k.

i dont know if it's a turbo - no mention of it - in which case £10k is just silly

Regards,

alex

no mention of turbo but on the pic of the engine you can see the boost pipes.

I am a firm believer that you can sell anything at any price if you are patient.

The right buyer just has tobe made aware of the fact that the car is for sale.

Hope this gets the asking price, but in the real world there are many good examples which will be sold for less and the buyers will be delighted with their purchase. This fact reduces overall pricing.

Having said that - MacKay Trading in Edinburgh tend to buy the best low mileage cars and sell them for a premium - big premium. They are still in business and doing very nicely, by charging what most would consider to be over-the-odds prices.

Different markets being targetted.

There are customers out there who want what amounts to a next-to-new car (given the mileage) and are willing to pay for it. It's the one they want. Simple as.

These are people with a bit of cash, maybe sold their house, cashed a ploicy, got a big divorce settlement. They want their toy and no grief.

These customers will pay and may well have years of happy motoring without the agroof a second hand motor.

These customers are at the top of the pricing chain and are the ones who are propping up the value of all 2nd hand 300zx's.

Please don't knock the 10k, for some it's pocket money.

Having said all that, I'd rather have a car that'sdone some excercise

:)

Seems a bit ambitious, but you never know.

Looked at the pics and it's definitely a turbo, shame the engine bay isn't in as good condition as the rest of it though.

Only 15000miles, 1 owner, wide arse

TBH, I say good luck to him, I hope he gets the price hes after, it doesnt help the prices of Z's when we all say,"Ha, how overpriced is that" etc etc

Be a bit more positive guys.

Agreed Chunk! This thread just isn't helping the cause is it!? :headvswal

I've got mine up for sale on the forum for what i think is a realistic

price (a lot less than i paid for it too!). People seem to forget these

cars were £35k+ when new, and are still technologically advanced

even by todays standards. There still hasn't been a car made 15yrs

on that looks anywhere near as good as a zed (other than £100k+

exotics).

well said

It never fails to amaze me!!Obviously I hope it goes well over £10k - but in the real world it wont.If it was German or Itilian then I could see it.If anybody thinks comments on this forum will make a difference to prices they are in dreamworld.

At the end of the day it sell for what the market dictates and being Japanese that wont be alot. The only hope he has, is that one person who will pay that money to be different. Anybody who has £10k spare will probably be thinking of alot of other cars for that money.

Complete *****x to that, low mileage seems odd? probably been clocked all its life!!! ...............

I have to question this too......

I'm no expert, but check out the leather gear knob in pic 4. Is it just the light giving some shine or does it look very worn for a 15K mile car.....

Nice ZX otherwise, though but I don't care for that stick-on dial housing above the centre air vents.

Richard ;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Well lets just see how it does!

Where are you guys seeing the other pics of it tho? I can only see 1?

I love this place - one quick look then jump to a conclusion. Makes for quick fire posts which can be fun to read but not necessarily fair or on the same planet.

Someone who is interested has posted a question on eBay covering many of the points raised on this thread. And the answer from the company representing the seller has been reasonable, informative, helpful and (if true which I have no reason to doubt) explains most of the digs made here. It is also very open and has offered to get / substantiate many things for the enquirer.

This is not a car I am interested in or of a style I like but I do like the way the company has answered the questions raised and they seem like a nice bunch to deal with.

If the car is a genuine 15,000 (and they say they have substantiation and the reason they give is IMHO very reasonable) and the kit has been assembled to that standard, maybe £10,000 is not so far off the mark? What would you pay now to find a 15,000 mile Zed with that bodykit fitted to that standard?

Or shall I just slag it off because I can't be arsed to look into it and then whinge later about how badly the price of Zeds has fallen these days? :D
