One in the eye for Tony Blair - I used to be a Labour supporter but find they have so mny failings. It's great to see a bit of direct campaigning and someone prepared to stand up for what they believe in.

Jamie deserves serious credit for using his largess to change the ridiculous current situation.

Good campaign but the fat kids of today need to get out and kick a football around or do some walking instead of sitting in front of a playstation all night and being chauffered to school in a 4x4.

I can't stand the hairy ox-tongued tosser, but he deserves a knighthood for what he's doing, I reckon.

I'll second that...too many Erkan Mustaffa's in school nowadays..."Roland...Roland!" Phat fookers!!!

Prior to the programme I didn't think much of him but TBH I now take it all back. Anyone who puts his neck on the line as he has for a cause he believes in gets my vote. It comes to something when you have to lobby a government to get them to provide good food for children. What does that say about the kind of society we live in? Suffice to say I've put my name down and I urge others to do the same! :)

Leigh.

PMSL at Timmy. Whats the point in sorting out school dinners if they little shits get home and are fed cheesey straws and chips FFS. I blame the parents, its noone else fault. FACT:D

I agree. But now 90% of school fields have huge railings with spikes on to stop people getting in. Every peice of green land is being built on, and the ones which are not have signs saying "No Ball Games".

Or the few which are allowed to have ball games, are often covered in glass dog shit and in some cases, used needles.

Interesting Roy. Assuming that is that their parents can actually afford to give them a decent meal when they're home. It's a sad FACT that unfortunately in some families the only "decent" meal a child will eat will be at school. I definately agree it's down to bad parenting in the situation you describe though.

The mum should have kept her legs crossed then. Funny how many poor parents smoke. Its still their fault for being poor and having children! See I'm allways right, my mummy told me:D

I still think Oliver is a fat tongued mockney wnaker.

On that school dinners show he kept saying: "I'm giving the dinner ladies real dignity", as though they didn't have any before hand and after he came along.

I think the campaigne is a great idea though - getting kids to eat healthy.

I suspect it's not in the Government's interest though. I was once told the financial benefit to them from people not claiming state pensions as they died from smoking related diseases was greater than the tax the Government got from cigarette sales.

Mmmm...I love the smell of social stereotypes in the morning  ;)

send them up a chimney!

I agree, healthy luxury foods are so expensive like rice, potatoes, fruit, chicken etc. Especially when you have scratchcards, mobile top ups and kappa shell suits to buy :D:D

send them up a chimney!

would they fit???????

I think it's more to do with a change in our society as a whole rather than a class/wealth issue. the village I grew up in at the time contained a butchers, bakers, green grocers, and a fishmonkers/ fish and chip shop. some 25 years later there is 2 chinese take aways, kebab shop , two indian take aways, fish and chip shop and none of the shops selling local produce. I would imagine this is repeated across the country. people just can not be bothered these days.

I remember my parents taking me fruit/veg picking, and this would be blanched then frozen ready for the rest of the year. when was the last time any one on here supported there local farmers? then people complain about lack of quality and diversity

adults need educating as much as the kids - but kids shouldn't have to decide to eat healthily - it should be an automatic right and they shouldn't be given an unhealthy option by the state.

The government WILL care if enough adults do - I have no kids, but I still feel passionately about this and think Jamie is a hero doing this in these cynical days where selfishness and materialism has got most of us climbing the wrong ladders.

Nelson loves Jamie, aaahhhh

Apparently on average school dinners cost 1/4 that of what is spent on prison meals. Now kids go to school for their own good, they don't have a choice but its just the law. People in prison have broken the law, deserve to be there and chose their own destiny. Now is it just me who thinks that the prison food should be ported to schools and the school food should be kicked around the school hall for a bit then sent to the prisons? I think this is ludicras TBH prisons recieve so much more funding than schools.... lock the fcukres up and throw away the key ! The whole issue boils down to the govenrment and its complete mis-use and poor allocation of our (tax payer's) money!

IMHO :D Everyone wants someone else to blame. FFS When are we going to take SOME responsibility for ourselves? Parents MUST take the responsibilty, kids arnt born fat (except Roland) or evil or wearing burberry. They learn and before we all start moaning about education the majority of that comes from home or should do!

I believe that a law should be imposed on how old you have to be before you can have children..... because there are too many 14/15/16 year old parents. They are still children themselves, so how they expect to raise a child is beyond me. And also this benefits system.... people are having children just for the extra benefits !! IMHO they want to get all these kifs from council estates who failed in school and are gonna spend the rest of their lives in and out of prison, and enforce national service. After a few years people will see how sh1t it is and make an effort to take some interest in their education and upbringing.

We have a law! It is illegal to have sex before your 16 (unless you know Mr Jackson). Just stop all benefits, if you dont work you starve and die, simple. Vote for me in the next election:D

Here here! Saying that there arn't any jobs left because the f00king immigrants have taken all the ones that these chavs could do. None of these chavs are smart / educated enough to fill any positions the industries are crying out for and there isn't any vacancies left at the local Tesco's ! Speaking of which went shopping last night there and the woman at the checkout didn't speak english at all. I just wanted to say "**** OFF BACK TO YOUR OWN SCRUBBER COUNTRY AND GET ME AN ENGLISH PERSON TO TELL ME WHAT THE BILL IS!" thank god they have little price screens else i wouldn't have a clue what was going on!
