Hi,

I believe my left side headlight bulb has blown. If it is I might as well change the right side as well. Has anyone got any ides on cost and how much hassle it is as a DIY job.

Thanks

Just changed all of mine for Halfords 30% brighter ones. It's quite easy to do just remove the air intake pipe so you can get your hand in there.

If it's the main beam you have to press to clips together at the bottom of the bulb to remove it and if it's the dip there is one clip you push in and lift up to remove the bulb.

The frustrating bit is putting the rubber cover back on afterward this just takes patience. ():-)

It's a very easy job. If you have a jap import then I can post details and photo's on how to make ones up using a Halfords bulb.

Making your own up is easy enough and cheaper than importing them.

Thanks all for advice,

Got bulbs from SE for £5 each. The previous owner had put the old bulbs in upside down so they were a sod to get out. On my passenger side I have an alarm siren blocking most of the access to the bulb surround.

Anyway after lots of cuts and bruises and getting my wife (who has small hands) to join the connecters all is done. Yippee!!
