Hi all! Finally got my Z back with a new (recon) engine after 6 Months!! :hyper: It a UK manuall TT.. Having let the engine bed in after 2 weeks driving off boost it was finally time to give the old girl a kane!! All though this engine seems stonger than my last on it's only boosting at 0.4 bar as opposed to 0.6 bar which is what my old engine used too  ... This new engine as had all new electrical connectors fitted, new injectors - plugs etc and also when the car gets up to temprature the interior fans speed up indicating that everything is fine for full boost!! If my old engine ever entered safety boost you could always tell because when the car got up to temp the interior fans (Air con) would stay slow! Is there any quick fix I can do to cure this problem to stop it going into safety boost??!!! Oh I have a new T.P.U on order because the contact's on the wiring loom to it arn't that great - could that be the cause of the problem??!! The internal dash boost dash guage still needs connecting up! Many thanks to anyone that can help me!!

UK manual TT, Blitz Air filter, Zorts, running standard boost, HKS boost guages

First things first...do an ECU check. Its real easy, takes 2 mins.

Its going into safety mode for a reason, and you cant fix it until you know the reason.

here you go http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html

Performing this test will give the ECU error code.

BTW - My Heater fans come on Full speed.....BEFORE the car has reached normal running temp(ie. Earlier than you should be flooring it).

Also check under the bonnet where the Stock boost gauge vacumm pipe connects. You say its not connected yet....could be a boost leak instead of safety mode, depending on how its disconnected.

Worst comes to worst you can bridge the knock sensor thats cutting your boost...

NOT advised :x:

Do what Legrath says ....

No smoke without fire

Det. sensor connector and VTC connector swapped by accident ? (is quite a common mistake after the wiringloom has been replaced, since the connectors are the same)

Found out what the problem was! There we're two, two pin electrical connectors not connected to the boost sensor thingy's on the drivers side! This was obviously causing the ECU to think there was a problem with the waste gate solinoids!! She's flying again now (Well for a standard Z anyway!!) showing 0.7 Bar on my HKS guages as opposed to 0.4 which is what she was doing before!! Thank for everyone's help you're all hero's!!!
