First I have had a consult check done that is revealing no faults from the box TPS etc, the problem is that the box sometimes has a mind of its own, mostly at higher RPM about 70-80 mph. Cruising along it will be at 2500 rpm then it will jump to 4000 rpm as if the overdrive is engaged, then after a while it will change back again, sometimes it will be up and down like a yoyo, then ok for a bit. Ive tried slowing to 50 ish and then booting it doesent seem to help, tried flicking the overdrive in and out ( at the higher Rpm it makes no odds)

Some people have suggested a solenoid fault , some an electrical short, some an internal box fault , some a torque converter malfunction. Any one got any thoughts before I resort to major surgery.

Amen to that oh latex one ;)

Has the TPS been set up properly, I have seen one which was doing something similar where the TPS reading was correct but when we disconnected to reset the TPS the setting was completely out and once setup properly it stopped the problem.

Ryan did a consult on it last friday, with special attention to the TPS, reported back clean and green, voltage spot on and functionality between TPS/ box/ecu working as it should.

I had thought of tha manual conversion, but whats the cost and who would do it?
