auto overdrive switch

hi,, i have auto tt, 91 this may sound silly qestion , but do you have to stop the car put in n,, to switch it to overdrive on ,,or off, or can you do it whilst driving ,, off the throttle of course,, only asking as i a manual said i had too on previous car i owned,, ps wasnt a zed, !

think i'm rite in saying no, i use mine to drop a gear for some corners or when on a v steep hill stops it going up and down from 3rd to 4th and holds it in 3rd when off

no you can use the switch on or off the throttle,or play with it and use it as another gear up or down

its great fun if you're cruising on the motorway and want to show off, flick it off, drops down to third and its rocket ship all the way to 120!! :D
