Hi Guys

I currently have a Mongoose system and obviously the sound is quite deep bar a nice little horse snort when the engines switched off :p but I think generally it lacks character, I,ve got to say I would prefer a higher pitched sound over the lower tone,

I read an item a short while ago, the writer said whilst test driving the new Ferrari he had started the car and was suprised how the car sounded like it was ticking over at 3000rpm but was actually only doing around 950rpm!, well to me this can only be the pitch and not the revolutions ascociated with hi revs in formula 1.

Anyone got any thing to contribute on how to acheive a nice active sound without increasing revs?

Dave

The big single exhaust seem to give more of a Race car sound, from what i have heard so far. Try Listening to Gregs or John Dixons

 yeh I knew someone would bring in the engine change :D

Ive gotta say I,m suprised, I didnt think of a single system to get the sound, which manufacturer make em? John have you one?

John and I have very similar custom single exit systems although whereas mine was built in Japan, his was made by Leon at Alunox in Wrexham. Great bloke, outstanding craftsmanship. My system is very good, but the one he made for John is absolutely flawless...and the sound is phenomenal! Lol! :D

Hi Dave

If you want the twin pipe look with the single pipe sound Leon will make you a 3" Decat X flow system and the sound when you blip it is almost the same.

I'll second that - John's car sounds f**king outstanding!!

Keep the centre resonator box and don't use any back boxes.

Mine sounds like a B52

I have a single on the TT, Sounds sweet but not like a ferrari

I have a custom made twin on the N/A and it sounds out of this world, my tickover is set to approx 0.9K and it sounds like it doing about 2.0k. When you open the throttle it puts a big smile on your face. Dont forget the mongoose is a quiet exhaust I had one on the TT and got rid. A TT Zs engine is low compression compared to the average Ferrari.

I have a single exit system, and it sounds like this

Sory mate, hope it is now

Ok without turning this thread into a "whos cock is bigger" thing, i have to say that my exhaust has to sound the loudest at idle........... never heard anything as loud

and if you dont believe me then there are two people who can most likely vouch for that

the 1st being : Duffman Hoffman (aka andy duff)

and the other being Peter if hes driven the thing about

Car scares the crap out of anyone near it and honestly sounds like a Spitfire on "Heat"

LOL
