i need some help can someone tell me what this black plastic box is for? its got a pipe going into it at the botom from the engine bay and theres a hole at the top that goes nowhere. can i remove this???? what does it do.

 

its on the pasanger side behind the wing.

it's part of the AIV system, can be removed when you remove the AIV's. people tend to do that when they decat

what is the AIV system???? and do you just block of the pipe at the bottom?

AVI is the system which supplies air and fuel to the cats in the down pipes to get them to working temperature quicker.

so can i still remove this box ???? i have got cats on but they are soon to come of when i get a decat.

the box is hitting my new boarder wing on the vent so wont fit.

what does this box do??? is it just for air ?? as there is a hole at the top open is that for sucking in air.

 

bottom line is i need this box gone!!!! any ideas can it be removed, can i put it else where if i remove the box and just leave the bottom pipe there will that be ok ???

Hello mate. There should be a hose that goes to the cats under the body. If you nremove this box emissions will come out of this pipe. When you do your decat you can remove this box of tricks - I have.

will it do any damage if i take it of now and drive the car?? as my decats are a month away and i need this box gone to fit my wing.

Just blank off the hole on the exhaust where the pipe connects and bin the box!
