Alot on here state that 14.5 should really be the max for standard Tubs, But if you haven't got a Boost controller, how are you going to measure the PSI properly, as the standard gauge isn't really that good :( Do you have a good after market gauge ??

yes mate, i have a HKS turbo boost gage so i know what im putting out...... so do you say 14.5 then is the best and safest to run at with stock every thing..... i have 360 degree thrust turbos, i just dont want to blow anything.

Pretty much like Sarg says ...

Standard injectors WILL max out at 15psi and you'll need bigger injectors to go beyond that (plus bigger tubs, intercoolers, fueling, etc).

An accurate boost guage (aftermarket) is essential and also consider that if you're using boost jets that they "may" cause boost spikes under heavy load so it would be safer (and wiser) to detune the boost slightly to say 12~13psi and be very cautious about detonation.

If you're serious about upping the boost to the level you're speaking of then I would advice you save you pennies and buy a good boost controller.

My personal advise is that you try running 12psi for day-to-day driving. It is both safe and still plenty quick ;)

PS - I'm assuming you've got the car chipped and an aftermarket induction kit fitted. If not yo're not doing your engine any favours by running extra boost ... Give me a shout if you need any parts ordered.

If its just boost jets in use I would not run any higher than 12psi. Under warmer weather conditions, you run the risk of maxxing out the injectors at lower levels than 15 psi... Its just not worth the risk... ;)

yea the summers nice with the roof off and the ice pumpin out mega watts, but for performance you cant beat the cold dence air of a january mornin

Karl I personally wouldn't touch boost jets as you have no control and it only takes one spike the cost you a 1K+ repair bill. Pritty much as Sgt says, but i'd defo go for a good boost controler such as Apexi, Greddy or HKS and get a John Dixon Chip so she runs sweet.

boost jets are ok for a inexpensive form of boost increase, start goin daft with pin holes and your askin for trouble. the key word is moderation and a good boost gauge plus optimax.ime runnin 12psi with no spikes,no dettin, and 200-300 pound still on my credit card towards a auto gearbox rebiuld when it goes tits up
