I've decided to improve the handling of the car instead of upping the power...for now!

So, would I be able to fit the poly bushes from Z-Centre myself?? With the car up on jack stands and normal tools? Or would I have to get a garage to do it???

Cheers guys :D

Unless you have access to a press machine I would not suggest trying to replace all the bushes yourself. It took a 10-tonne press to get my old tension rod bushes out and the new ones in ... Don't even want to think about the rear subframe bushes ... Best take it to a specialist or a garage you trust.

HTH.

Good luck.

Duffers doing mine, arent you duffer? duffer. . . . . . :)

I wouldnt advise it, some of the subframe ones are in need of pressing in and out and a lot of the others are done while your getting to the subframe ones, so its hardly worth bothering unless you do all of em, I had mine done and saw what a nightmare job it is, Duffer is simply un-phased by nightmares, so it all depends on whether you like challenges, i dont mind exhausts, suspension, brakes, plugs etc but fook that for a game of tennis,

I replaced front ones DIY style.

removed front struts off car, then a local engineering firm (yellow pages) pressed old ones out & pressed new bushes in. Took him 1 hour.

Charged me a tenner.

You need to use the grease provided with the bushes to get them to slide in.

The type of press is called a Fly Press I think?

The rear ones not sure about.

Arthur

Or you could just buy my NA subframe thats got brand new bushes in and never been used, but then you'd need my NA diff, prop and drive shafts which have virtually no wear on them at all. £400 Its a very popular convertion in the states as it make you car accellorate like a scolded cat, get rids of the HICAS and generally improves handling. Oh yes you need my NA Box Clutch and Fly wheel say £650 the lot.

you can do the front tension rod ones quite easily if you have a large vice :)

My thoughts exactly Dave! Thanks for your input guys :D

Anyone recommend a place around Ipswich or Reading to do it??

don't you have to use a datum or what ever to get the profile correct?

I pressed in my S13 front tension rod poly bushes (look the same as zed ones) by jacking it against the bottom of the car ;) JObs a goodun. Vice my arse! :D
