Ive baited the fuck out of Porsche drivers this week and not one of them took me on!

 

My theory is, that they are shit scared of the certain humiliation awaiting them should

Beetle with a fast lump...shite interior and driven by guys with blue rinse hair do's...928 is the only Porch I'd consider having but the 300ZX can out do it with a 3 litre engine and a couple of tiny turbos whereas the Porch needs a gas guzzling 5 litre V8...which probably runs outta petrol before completing a quarter mile!!! LMFAO

Now let me see...hmmmm...I paid about 7K for my 300ZX and if I wiped it out on the track I'd be like "well, it happens" etc. But if I wiped out my 911 worth 30-50K etc. before even getting on the track and in front of a shit load of people...I'd be getting the Samurai death knife out the cupboard back home!

 

Yeah, Porch people can afford a Porch with a BBQ on the back at 50mph but can they drive 'em? Fuck no! Go get yourselves a diabled shopping trolley from Tesco, coz most of you are collecting pensions and can't drive the things anyway! What a waste!

I know I shouldn't rise to this but just can't help myself.

 

Regular 300 guys - my suggestion is that as soon as someone starts "taking the piss" saying you can't afford their car then ignore it. You haven't got 300s to say you're rich - it's just because you love the car.

 

As most of you know, I got rid of my 300 and got a more expensive car. I love the new car but I still say that the 300 was the best value sports car I've ever owned (and I've had somewhere close to 30 cars).

 

Enjoy your car for what it is and ignore anyone who suggests you shouldn't.

 

There are faster cars out there. There are more expensive cars out there. There are cars out there which you'd love to own. But you love your car and are happy with it.

I ran that at 1.09 bar, will get it up to 1.4 or 1.5 bar soon,

i must say i do have traction problems, but im keen to run, its nice to compare.

What is it about drivers of expensive German cars, they seem to all have this "we are superior to you" attitude. Its like the German dream of being the master race has now been passed on to drivers of its cars. I don't want to single anyone out (especially not Eric, as he seems like a nice chap), but everyone who's spent a fortune on a Porsche, Mercedes or BMW seems to go around trying to make everyone else seem inferior.

The media image of the average Porsche owner seems to be this grey suit wearing YUPPY 1980s stereotype who spends his dot com fortune on a Porsche, BMW or Mercedes as that's what everyone else does. I'm sorry, but every Porsche driver I've ever met was just like this. I would be very embarrassed to be associated with these knobs. Owners of Italian and British sportcars all seem pleasant, helpful, friendly people.

And comparing the performance of a modern Porsche with a 300ZX is not comparing like for like. The 968 was the competitor to the 300ZX and was not even close in any comparison I've ever read.

 

And as Porker states "You've convinced me...Porsche, Ferrari,Lamborghini, Jaguar, Maserati, Aston Martin,McClaren are all in fact crap cars....Datsun(Renault) is the greatest", the last test I read comparing the 300ZX with its competitors IN THE SAME PRICE RANGE (3000GTO, 300ZX, Porsche 968, Mazda RX7, Renault Alpine A610, Subaru SVX, Lotus Esprit Turbo, Venturi 260), the Renault A610 came top, with the Nissan 300ZX and RX7 in joint second.

 

If all we wanted to do was spend a load of dosh on a fast car, we could have bought Nissan Skyline GT-Rs.

 

Nice to see some some Mitsibishi and Supra guys/girls over here, lets hope you guys don't lower your reputations to the depths of the Porsche drivers

Guys, I aint saying the Porker is the fastest thing out there! Course its not - in a straight line I *will* lose to a modded 'Supe or something like Warrens ZX - I can't compete with that in a straight line BHP shootout. A mate of mine does have a bog standard ZX though, and I *can* beat that comfortably in a straight line.

 

What I am saying though is that my car is very good around a track, due to its size, lightness and mental brakes. The car is pushing 280bhp in a car that weighs 1200kg

 

The rear engine configuration gives brilliant traction out of corners, and Porsche sorted out the tail happy traits in the 993.

 

I have utmost respect for Jap cars, why would I have bought a MKIV Supe if I didn't?

Firstly I live here in Wales coz I like to pay 98000 pounds for a house with 4 acres of land for me and the Mrs. Turbo to have 5 horses, 3 x Rottweilers etc. etc. Whereas down Sarrrffffff it would be worth about 250,000...boxing clever!

 

Secondly, yes you're right about one thing, mental age of about 17 but try more like 31 for proper grown up age!

I agree, but unfortunately the reception I received on the Supra forum was a stuffy, stuck up attitude. Granted that not all were so inhospitable but some just like to wind-up to the point where it becomes less a joke and more personal!

 

You'd know all about that, as Andyduff pointed out, I don't like anyone taking the piss out of my car when it starts to get personal. Being told by Branners that my car is a pile of shit etc. etc. is not funny!
