Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(

OK so had a bit of a run in with a telegraph pole on a slippery bit of road, wasn't being silly and I'm still kicking myself! Nobody else involved except me and the pole, only my pride was hurt! I've had the car less than a month so ok I've not really had a chance to get too attached, but it's my first Z and I really liked it. I'm just thankful nothing else was on the road at the time! Going to call the insurance company a bit later on but would appreciate any opinions as I don't know where to start! To top it all off I just paid out for 2 new tyres on Monday and an Induction Kit off Danny on Tuesday, don't think I'll have much use for that :(

I used to like the snow!

oops cmon how much were you pratting around thats easily a 30+ mph accident looks almost a write off mega bucks to repair ..main thing is you are ok innit cars can be replaced

oh **** i thought the area where you took the pics from looked familier are you ok kev???? where did you do that and when you aint had it long mate

ahh kev that looks bad its gonna have pinched the front end in youll be lucky if it ain done the chassis legs that sort of thing happens with that type of damage the front goes back draggin the sides in with it

Kev, I know that David (RiceRocketUK) is getting a black Zed in the next couple of weeks to break. He's based in Leatherhead so not too far from you either. Might be worth giving him a buzz (see traders section).

right between the eyes.... unlucky dude!!!

I have seen a lot lot worse than that, thats only a scratch. It can definitly be fixed,

SAVE THE Z

I saved a zed, from you!!! :D

Obviously it depends on how serious the damage is, but in principal I'm with the "fix it" vote!

Mark

Has it got leather???? :x: :x: :x:

No leather ;) I think the main thing I need to establish is the chassis being out of alignment, going to try and speak to a guy in my road who runs a bodyshop (completely forgot about him, thanks Rob :))

Yea were is it :ttiwwop:

First thing is to get it on a lazer aligning jig, if the chassis bent, the whole front end has to be removed, (to straighten it properly), if the chassis not twisted or bent, I reckon thats a quite easy fix.

Definate signs of chassis movement. But there are no major folds in it. I think that could be pulled out on a Jig.

The bit which has moved is really flimsy anyway and I wouldnt call it a part of the structural chassis.

I have a feeling they will write that off, but I think it wont cost as much as you think to fix it.

dont worry it's not that bad, it always tooks worse when the plastic bits are still on it, i take it it's your first bump.

I Am Buying A New Carbon Bonnet From Zed Centre In About 7 Or 8 Weeks. You Can Have My Original For Free , Its In Perfect Condition ,you Pay For The Postage My Friend .

You'd need a friggin good panel beater to straighten that out :(

You really don't need to scrap her. You will be able to get a good use bonnet for about £50-100.

Better luck in future

Thats completely knackered, but since I'm a caring person I'll help you out and give you £500 for it (we need a wistling smiley with his hands in his pockets looking from side to side)

Seriously if they do right it off and you don't want to fix it I'll buy her off you. For the buy back and +

At the moment I'm not going to go down the insurance route, going to see what's what get a couple of quotes, opinions seem to be it's fixable (on here and people who've looked at it) so I'll see what happens.

oofH!!! bad luck buddy, its gunna be a write off I reccon, but you can always buy it back of the insurance, and get the job done by some one on here?

Spoke to Paul, he's having a look tomorrow so I'll have a go at removing the bumper (well what is left) in the morning. Looks like the wing has moved from the gap inbetween the bonnet but couldn't find any "telltales" so not good but I'll see what he says, trying to keep positive!

Hi! Well he reckons it's all fixable and thought parts would be the most expensive thing, so good job I found this place :-) Putting together a list (which is growing as I strip everything down). Cars going in Monday for a proper look and quote, I'll finish off stripping as much as I can in the morning if it doesn't blimen rain! 10mm socket gets you a long way with these cars :-)

Hi! Well he reckons it's all fixable...

that's very good news ;) almost as good as the Welsh result :D

Everyone here will want to help so just ask... Traders section is good as well for s/h or new parts. Good Luck :nana2:
