Looking for a bit of inspiration really. I'm having a full kit fitted and full respray in the summer, hopefully in time for JAE etc. The kit is all sorted, i just need some ideas for the paint job.

The car is black just now and TBH i want to keep it black (or at least mainly black) i just want to do something that will make it stand out a bit, but somehow remaining subtle. Problem is, i dont like the 'jap style' door stickers and i defo dont like big silly fast and the furious graphics. :hurl:

I've maybe not left you much to work with there but thats why i'm stuck. Just hope you guys are a bit more imaginative than i am.

Only thing i have thought of is some kind of black/silver two tone job.

Cheers

That did cross my mind. I was thinking of a subtle blue flip. That would go with the engine bay nicely aswell.

A burnt orangey colour also crossed my mind but i would have difficulty making the interior match.

I know it sounds daft, but the zed isnt the right shape for a 2 tone paint job imo...

I think the blue flip sounds better, as it wont look so odd with the hood up etc....

there was a topic here a few days ago about paint, there was some good suppliers on there.

i used rage extreame for my last car, and was happy enough with the pain £133 a litre

Matt black, looks excellent if done right, totally different and with a bit of clear coat mixed in still beads! Looks like a texture but smooth to the touch.

I know what you mean. I was thinking it would be a good idea but just cant think of a way to do it that would look nice.

A blue flip probably tops the list just now. Cant go too crazy with flips though. Not got the money to spend £5k on a paint job.

I like matt black too. Heard to many bad stories though of it going shiny when it gets rubbed etc. Would look good if it was done well though.

oooh, what do you think of this?

Like i said, i was a bit put off by orange because i wasnt sure on what to do with the interior, but the cream leather looks quite nice here.

Go for white  , looks so much better :D . you can always keep the tyres black, ( apart from the side walls that is).

the coppers nice thought about that for my motor when it comes to painting it. I used to have a manta nearly the same it looked the *****cks when it was polished up.

If if rubs off it wouldnt go shiny and if it rubs off anyway its just a crap job. Paint is paint. Matt or Flat black is the same paint just without the shine. Have a word with Peter at PPS, he's doing my bike

My mark 2 was mainly red lead!!!

I'm in the same boat at the moment mate! :) Check out the thread I started on this very subject:http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=44636

You can see an example of a Satin black car towards the end, also a link to Alsa corporations website who I've been emailing recently. If you're interested in their products but don't want to go through the hassle of importing them yourself (though it works out slightly cheaper ;)) I've also found a UK distributor.

Cheers,

Leigh.
