well where do i start with this one??

i would like to do away with my pcv breather system has anyone done it on here??

i think but not sure if i remove the pipe from the rocker cover to the turbo inlet pipe, put a filter on the end of the rocker cover and blank off the turbo inlet pipe,

then remove the pcv valves and put a filter in here and blank off the plennum will this work??

i know the system is there as an emissions issue but if i do this then is the crank case still able to breathe??

i would like to try this as my zed is burrning oil, after overrun when i put my foot down again i get a huge puff of blue smoke, so if i remove the breather from the plennum and it still smokes its gotta be valve stem seals i hope!!

any help much appreceated as its driving me nuts!!! :smash: :smash:

Dewi mine is done,Lymon done his too I beleive he is the man to ask about it IMHO.

I spoke to peter R about this at billing and he seemed to think there may be an issue with it, something regarding vaccum. TBH I dont remember the details but it was not as simple as i first thought. As mac says, get some advice on it from peter or lymon

cheers guys,

i will deffo look into this, will try to get in touch with lymon and see what he did, its worth a try anyway if only for a short while :D

you dont want to blank them off! as you suggest, the engine needs to breathe. the blow by gasses would pop every seal & gasket on your engine if you blanked them!

you can remove them & fit catch cans to collect any oil however

I have just removed an aftermarket breather kit (turbo technics) after adverse comments. It is now back in standard pcv setup, with new valves. It idles better and the dump valves work properly... The old setup, having studied the plumbing, was an obvious way of generating a vacuum in the crankcase - not a good thing??

hi there paul,

i did say to blank off the inlet to turbo pipe not the breather pipe, what i said was to put a filter on both ends of the breathers so the engine can breathe naturally hope this is making sense :)
