Hi guys,

I'm trying to pin down my stall-after-dump problem and after going through all the menus on my Super-AFC2 I found one which I think says 'decel adjust' (haven't got car at mo so can't tell for sure). When I go into this screen Ive got three options: first one is four *'s but can be adjusted upwards in percentages, and the other two are both set at 10% (I-something 1 and I-something 2). I think that once these are set correctly I may be able to solve my problem.

Could anyone tell me what theirs are set to?

Cheers for any help,

Dave.

Its the Bovs that are pre loaded too high and need ajusting. Its only a 2 minute job if you can get to them. Turn the preload nut at the end back till there is only about 4mm of thread showing. that should do the trick. You can then p1ss around with the purple ring with the different sized holes in till you get the sound you want.

hi mark - i tried that but it didnt make any difference :(

i mean to be truthful they arrive with about 30mm of thread. i turned this down to about 8mm (bugger of a job if the car's not in the air) but it didnt make the slightest bit of difference. when the car's back i'll try taking it from 8mm to 4mm but i cant see it curing the problem. :(

You are both right, but the bov way will make them stay shut a little longer or not open until the spring is overcome and the s-afc2 way is to adjust it for you to stop it stalling when you fit open-to-atmosphere bov's. I would leave the bov's as they are if they work well and sound good and let the Safc2 do its thing, you will need to set the decel function which unfortunately I cannot remember how to do as I sold my safc2 to raise funds lol. Soz.

ok cheers olly. i'm getting the car back tomorrow (fingers crossed) so will have a play the the options (mental note: dave, don't over-lean the mixture)

Dave, just a bit of feedback, have adjusted my BOV's to 5mm (from the stock setting of 15mm!) and it idles like a beauty now, and only dumps when you have built up decent boost pressure, ie not driving around town! And no symptoms of stalling / popping and banging on the overun and downshift... I think the AFC tuning is the answer. ;-)
