I seem to recall that they said the 300ZX was on a par with the 944 (only 2.5 litres and single turbo) but wasnt as fast as the 928

if it isn't fast enough make it fast enough 400+ hp daily driven here.

 

Pose factor is easy to ascertain.

 

On the otherhand you can bench race all you like about getting from A-B but reality will dictate otherwise, as there is no such thing as "all things equal". A TTZ could have an awesome peddler and downtrou the superior spec Porker so quick that the pants would be leaving burn marks on the way down. OR vice versa. OR a TTZ could be modified to hell and bank with a shite driver and be downtrou'd by a 924 ...

oh yeah and my boss has a 968 Clubsport which I've driven a couple of times mine absolutely nails it in shit scary high speed acceleration but the 968 has the balance and braking from hell. High speed cornering.. well no-one (bar stupid nutters) drives that close to the limit on the road to tell.

 

One leaves passengers shaking when they get out of the car repeating over and over "f**k thats fast, f**k thats fast, f**k thats fast". One just leaves people going "I went for a ride in a Porsche"

These do handle bloody well though. It would leave a Zed on a short twisty circuit as they loaded them up with the right suspension and chuffing big brakes to stop it.

 

As for top end and acceleration, no chance!
