Being unreliable :P just did a wee jaunt up to Leeds (450miles round trip) not a squeak! Car went like stink when I asked it to. Petrol cost £60 total and that was me driving 'normally'

Never saw 1 single other Z tho :( bah right up the M6, across the M62 and not a sausage

Got to agree here and sing the praises of a beautiful and reliable car, since Sunday I have been to Coydon twice, Peterborough, Norwich and a thrash round some coutry lanes to try me new Goodyear F1s, thats getting on to 800 miles and a scarey amount of petrol, but not so much as a cough or splutter once. :nana2: :nana2: :nana2:

Too right mate...you see hardly any unlike the poor bloke who pull into the petrol station to fill up behind me looking all smug and stuck up in his Porsche Boxster Silver convertible until that is another one pulled in behind him same model, same year, same colour!!! Oh dear!!!!

Mind you they still have to go along way to keep up with the most common car around at the moment Audi TT !!!!...they are evreywhere.

My son and I have a competition as to who's first to spot a Audi TT in any multi storey carpark we go in..You can guarantee at least one on each level normally parked next to a Boxster..

Sorry meant to attch this to GOIT!!!! DOH!!!!

This is where all the "tosh" about these cars being unreliable... threads like this, where owners sound genuinely suprised and relieved that they completed a 450 mile trip WITHOUT the car breaking down.

Doesn't surprise me, I travelled about 15000 miles in my 300 over the last 12 months, just normal servicing and replaced track rod ends due to MOT Heres to the next 12 months of fun.

Yeah, im surprised considering the amount of people that slate 'em like yer good self scoops and I take mine out for its first real trek in my hands & its completely worry free.

And that includes some colourful driving and it the temp doesn't go over 82c

No unknown boings bings blops or the thud of a nut bouncing off the underbody. No funny smells, Sound as a pound.

And when I say colourful, I mean rainbow. :p

LS2 the meet depends on what my work comitments are :) I want to make it. & I might be an oxfordshire resident again v. soon :D depends on what job I accept :D

Ive had mine nearly three years now and use it as a daily driver.

Ive never had any problems apart from exhaust going and being on my fifth set of pads, its never missed a beat.

PMSL.. but tell me where exactly have I ever slated a zed???

You don't slate em as such, you just keep reminding us on how much better your Toymota is

Have to agree, very reliable cars, i'm running 400hp and had no major problems. They get slated by ex zed owners who have had a bad experience with them, probably due to their own fault in buying with their heart not their head! Oh, ex zed owners, don't take it personally lol! :)

Well said that man;)

I slated both my Z's when I still owned them, they nearly gave me a Frikkin' Nervous Breakdown between them.

iv owned my z a year other than maintance which you would expect from any car,all that has failed is a starter. £50 1hrs work, ;) so no bad comments on the z blimin love my car,and i aint selling

Yes but come on Allan you drove em like you stole em;) ANY CAR you drive like that will die fact:(

as someone who has many many jaguars its been a breath of fresh air since owning the zx, like the zx i owned jags for the style and performance

and apart from the mods i chose to put on, the zx has certainly been A LOT cheaper to run, i am now looking into buying the missus one, as her celica

(her words) looks crap, drives crap and she would prefer her pajero back,

and again in her words, the celica is deffo a womans car, but she aint ready for bingo yet :nelson:

i've owned my 300zx for over a year and has never missed a beat, i had a rs turbo before this and that was off the road more than on, the 300 is still the best looking car out there.

Mac, How did you know both my Z's were Stolen ??? Ooops didn't mean that to slip out :nelson: :nelson: :D :D

LOL but on a serious note I really do feel for you going through 4 engines:(

Mate it's one of those things, I lost all faith in the Z engine about 4 months after owning one and £30k, 2 cars and 4 engines later I just couldn't take anymore, they nearly gave me a nervous breakdown seriously. I'm glad I got rid of them when I did as it put a huuuuge strain on my relationship with the missus. I still love the look of the Z but if I ever had another it would have a Big Block Chevy in it, maybe next project ???

Can't really complain about mine :)

(exept for when my arse overtakes me for no apparent reason)

Strange, i too had an rs turbo before a zed, and it was the most reliable car ive had to date...

Have to agree with this - I nearly always use the ZX for holidays often driving over 1500 miles in a week. I have never had a problem yet. In fact I take the ZX because I feel more confident in its mechanicals than our W reg Corsa or V reg Rav-4.

Bugger the fuel consumption - it more than makes up for that when I press the loud pedal :D

Richard :hyper:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
