Hi There,

My newly imported Zed's has an aftermarket steering wheel put on and when I've stripped everything down, found that the horn isn't connected to any wires at all and can't see anything from the wiring loom to give me an indication where to connect.

Does anyone know how I can connect it up?

I'm not brilliant at electrics so if you can show pictures or tell me the exact couloured wires I'm looking for I will be grateful.

Thank you

Wayfarer

 Another one!

I dont know the answers to all these new questions!!!!!!! cant you ask some old calssics like, "How do i open the door" or "Which is the GO pedal?"

I'm gonna go make a cuppa.

exactly the same prob i had mate when i got my imported car. IIRC the wires that come up through the column would be hicas, horn and cruise control. which make of wheel is it?

LOL, go on just have a stab at it.... ;)

Thanks for asking SkylineDave,

Doesn't really matter about the make of steering wheel at the moment

I've got the loom coming up beside the column and have a set of wires going to a separate connection block.

One of the wires from the main loom goes to the rear area of the steering wheel mount with a spade connector attached.

I need to know basically which wires I'm needing ie: the colour codes of the wires.

I'll work it out eventually , just thought someone here might of been able to save me some of the hassle, guess they like keeping things to themselves, what a shame! ;)

Kind regards,

Wayfarer

Thank you kindly Sir!

If I could have helped I would have, really didn't have a clue on this one.

Hope you don’t think I was just being an arse to p1ss you off. A bit of stupidity and fun is what makes this place what it is. Hope you get it sorted soon :smash:

Thanks guys!

It's nice to see that you really do care!....LOL ;)

I won't tell anyone really!...

I've printed off a wiring diagram, so hopefully will find those bl**dy wires. :headvswal

I'll do the work on the weekend, I've got to setup a foglight as well so will take two of the back lights and link them to my front ones, that looks like a b1tch too!

Hey, do you happen to know of anyone in the North East who does clutch replacements, my is at the very top for biting and don't want to mess around bleeding the hydraulics and suspect that it needs doing.

My funds are tight at the moment, but by the end of this month will have around £300-400 spare.

Kind regards,

Wayfarer

Hi Guys!

Horn is now sorted out thanks to the wiring diagram I printed off!.

Thanks for the really and I mean really....er...um....warm welcome

I'll eventually get used to you guys taking the P*$$ out of me, it won't be to difficult, but remember what goes around comes around!

Now I've got some of your attention...here's another opportunity to take the well....Pee out of meee.

Question:

I have to put a foglight on my Zed..ok not a problem...I just want to know if anyone has actually used the front foglight switch and adapted the middle two brake lights, if one of you have or know someone who has what I need is the colour code of the wires from the front foglights to the switch.

I've read most of the forum stuff and seen the stuff here:http://www. 300zx.org.uk/brake-fog.htm

but haven't found the info for the wires and to make you guys laugh some more my printer ink has just gone on empty, :hyper: I've refilled it and now that bl**dy thing won't work!

I'm a jinx around electrical stuff! :headvswal

Kind regards,

Wayfarer

The front light are driving lights rather than fog lights but I suppose you could use them as fogs (yellow bulbs perhaps?). I think most people have a separate switch somewhere - don't forget it has to light up too.

ah you mean rear fog lights? if so then i think its 50/50 whether people get a separate fog light installed below their rear bumper, or as you said, used part of the brake lights. not heard of anyone utilising the front fogs/driving lights, they (as I have) get an extra switch (with light ;) ) installed on the dash somewhere (or below the steering column)

Hi Guys,

I've reconfigured the centre two brake lights to be foglights and have ran the wires to the dash, just need to find the correct wires on the driving/foglight switch and I'll be good to go for the MOT if I can't get the wires right I'll adapt it with it's own illuminated switch.

If the weather is fine tomorrow I should be done.

Thanks for all your support and pee taking.

I'll let you know how it goes once I'm done. ;)

Oh and if you know of anyone in my area Middlesbrough is my nearest town.

That can replace my clutch this would be a really big help. :hyper:

Kind regards,

Wayfarer
