Hello forum,

I have finally made the decision to buy a 300zx....yes 300zx! lol.

I was just wondering if anybody could tell me what to look for when buying one.

What are the common problems?

Which is the best model?

Anything that you think could be useful to me in my search basically.

All your help is much appreciated.

Cheers,

Midlander.

Hello mate,

UK + manual

Just like mine - which I'm selling funnily enough...

Here are a few pics of it...... >>HERE

Common problems, are there any "common" problems?

I have heard a few people saying they get a fuel smell when cold, easily rectified with a fuel line kit from SMITHY, so 10 year old rubber fuel pipes are a bit of a weakness now

Few people have fitted Pete Shrimp grounding kits, so dirty earthing is obviously an issue

Suspension bushes are reputedly not very good.

Targa seals can leak,

er.... crash damage obviously, thats never good.

Good luck mate

red...errm...Twin Turbo...Auto...optimax....thats it you're set...:D

Try and pop to the santa pod meet on the 20th Feb, theres gonna be a fair few Z's there and a load of owners that know an extensive amount about the cars.

Its also best to have a real good read through the FAQ's and buying guide, see if a member will have a look at a Z with you when you view one.

Good luck fella

  • 3 weeks later...

Thanks for all those suggestions.

Since posting I have now test driven a few, loved it, and I am now on the hunt for a manual one.

Probably take me a while to find a decent one I suppose...but I hope to be joining you lot soon.

Thanks for all the advice :)
