Had a conversation with a technician from my local Nissan dealer (Polesworth Garage) today whilst picking up some service kits.
As I had parked out of sight, I Acted completely thick (quite easy)and asked a few obvious questions on someones elses behalf (Pretend) and a couple of more tech ones. He had`nt a clue! it was so funny, I let him completely hang himself as I asked about tuning and timing,he explained at some length as to how the timing cannot be altered that there is no where to change it and these cars are notorious for requiring head jobs at very low mileage? He also mentioned that they looked after a red one for a customer and they are such tempremental cars that every time it was serviced by them it would breakdown shortly after, and he said this with a completely serious face? deeerrr wake up guy, he continued with how they cost 40 + grand when new and most are run by companies who have more money than sense! How has this situation arisen? is it a Nissan thing or do other marques suffer the problem with their flagship model and incompetant mechanics / engineers? Oh and how did this conversation end??? when a second engineer came over and asked me to move my shiny 300zx as a lorry was revering in , his face was a picture.
