Nissan Technician

Had a conversation with a technician from my local Nissan dealer (Polesworth Garage) today whilst picking up some service kits.

As I had parked out of sight, I Acted completely thick (quite easy)and asked a few obvious questions on someones elses behalf (Pretend) and a couple of more tech ones. He had`nt a clue! it was so funny, I let him completely hang himself as I asked about tuning and timing,he explained at some length as to how the timing cannot be altered that there is no where to change it and these cars are notorious for requiring head jobs at very low mileage? He also mentioned that they looked after a red one for a customer and they are such tempremental cars that every time it was serviced by them it would breakdown shortly after, and he said this with a completely serious face? deeerrr wake up guy, he continued with how they cost 40 + grand when new and most are run by companies who have more money than sense! How has this situation arisen? is it a Nissan thing or do other marques suffer the problem with their flagship model and incompetant mechanics / engineers? Oh and how did this conversation end??? when a second engineer came over and asked me to move my shiny 300zx as a lorry was revering in , his face was a picture.

Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce... (sorry no sound!) LOL

Oh that was cruel! but he did deserve it.

There are some great Nissan technicians out there mind you.

Darren (Dazza on this forum), is one of the best. He really does know his stuff, he's down to earth, well priced and a really good bloke.

And no he isn't twisitng my arm at this moment wink.gif

Oops sorry Dazza, forum members not included in my last post he he Jeff TT

Muppets! wink.gif

What is even more worrying is what are they going to do when the new Z hits town? Scarey! biggrin.gif

That's about right!

It's all MONEY MONEY MONEY.

When I asked Sheffield Nissan how much it would be to change both turbos, he started rubbing his hands together!

LMAO biggrin.gif

Must be something about Sheffield and them being robbing Northern bastards then...ROFLMFAO biggrin.gif

I had the same with the main Toyota dealers when I had the Soup.

They'd done a Sony CD for me, I rang them next day to ask about cambelt change..."could take about 3 days that mate" Why? "...sometimes the bolts are really hard to get off!" WTF?

Rang my local Toyota dealer back home "What are they going on about? Can do it on a Saturday morning if you get the car in early!" Hmmmmm! wink.gif

Main dealers eh?

P.S. No offence to any of the normal robbing Northern bastards! LMAO biggrin.gif Just main dealer ones! biggrin.gif

Guy over the road from my new house works for Halfords as a mechanic...OK? So what's that got to do with anything you ask?

He came over to drop the local paper in to the woman pixie and it was quite late on Friday night. He asked the Mrs. Turbo where I was? She said that I'd gone to pick my car up from the garage(SE) as it had been having some work done.

So he asks what is it? He's seen the Kirk, so she says a 300ZX and his eyes light up! He used to work for Nissan for 12 years at the tiniest, backwater dealer on Anglesey! He says to her that he can't wait to get his hands on another Nissan etc. Not this one matey! LMAO biggrin.gif So now you work for Halfords eh? They're really good at mechanics on car stuff aren't they??? wink.gif NOT!!!

Jeez, you'd better get that garage extension built and the doors locked ! biggrin.gif

Tim I love your posts they always good for a laugh, I knew a guy with a Pegeug 205 and took it to Halfords for them to fit an after market exhaust when he went to collect it later that day it was sdtill not done.Returning the following afternoon they said whilst fitting it they had damaged the cat and had ordered a new one which was later fitted and he collected the car. They made no charge for the any of the work and he was quite happy, except the sound was quieter than expected on looking at it at home he discovered a brand new complete standard sytem with cats had been fitted and the after market back box still in the boot!

Classic! Jeff TT

Ps Halfords headlight bulb aplication booklet is arse even wrong for the UK cars

biggrin.gif LMAO Jeff...excellent! biggrin.gif

I read somewhere that the AA had taken over the garage side of Harrys???

True or false...true...or....false?

Is that because all the broken cars collect there, rather than having to drive around the country to find them ???? biggrin.gif

Has n e 1 every had anything "Good" to say about Nissan Main Dealers!!!...(With obvious exceptions of forum members)...without prejudice etc...

Lets bundle up all the mail on this forum and send it to Nissan HQ...just to see what they say...they must have lost hundreds of thousands.. because they have come acrosss a slightly intelligent customer base!!!

Regardz

if you bundled a whole lot of complaints together i guarentee you it would get lost at the nissan complaints department biggrin.gif

They probably don't have a complaints department. Why should they when they never get complaints. (Chicken-egg etc) biggrin.gif

2 Good things about Nelson Main dealers and some bad...like it or not I don't care! wink.gif

Middlehurst have one good thing going for them, they have Skylarks up there but they are still just a shitty Nelson Mandela that makes most of its money out of selling fucking Micras and Primeras! FACT! And they are NOwhere near God like status like some would make others believe where the Z is concerned!!! mad.gif

Arriva Nissan in Peterborough, very good with the Z but not so good at diagnosing or telling the difference between a completely Phuket engine and a not so Phuket engine. But Bob Ford is good with the Z no mistake! Mostly Z's in the garage at the back on the few occasions I was there wink.gif But damn expensive on labour etc.

All IMHO and NO offence intended to anyone! wink.gif

P.S. One other thing that will be very good and will defo draw us to Nelsons around the country in the near future. The 350Z! wink.gif I'll be banging on the doors at the nearest showroom to see it in the flesh...gorgeous...it's really grown on me big time! biggrin.gif
