OK, there may be a game of UT tonight. I saw maybe as last time there was a big problem with version incompatibilities and half the people couldn't join Warrens server, but had no problem joining mine (and vice versa).

 

Anyway, after reading a few FAQs on the subject and getting a slightly different version of the game, it should be on for tonight.

 

Keep your eye on this thread for updates and a possible IP address (I hope!). The game is likely to start at about 9pm.

Sorry about last night. Another balls up to a point. Me and Wazza had not compatibility problems this time, just ISP problems. Seems BTOpenworld (BTs ADSL isp) was having trouble last night so we weren't around much. Will schedule another game soon.

 

Stuart, why couldn't you join in? Any error messages etc?

No error messages, just saif trying to connect and then after a few mins said nothing found.

was on ut last night but late on.....my ping isnt too good was coming in at about 195 so you cable guys should have fun

I was there for a while, but I got booted off or something, and it just wouldnt reconnect, same problem as SRRAE, just wouldnt (couldnt) find anything. i suggest that you ping all normal servers (rather than one of yourselves hosting), and then pick the one with best ping and no players, there are loads and loads and loads of servers that have no players on at all, with (on my system) less than a 40 ping. Believe it or not, I actually connected to one with a 5 ping?!?!?!?!, this was definately correct, and there was only one other player in there with a possible 8 players allowed. It was an instagib as well!! Christ that is faster than what I get at LAN games.

Tooley, ADSL is not ideal for online gaming. I had pings last night varying from 25 - 450. I haven't noticed the modem guys suffering too much.

ok lets make some organiization here, since you all moan like an old hore with sore tits, get a mail list of everyonw who is playing and closer to the time just mail everyone with server or ip and we can join in
