grass is green cos its the only colour of sunlight it CANT absorb. :smash:

I thought grass is green as it contains chlorophyll, the photosynthetic pigment used to turn the sunlight into energy.

Maybe that's green as it's absorbing all the light except the green bit?

What grass are we talking about?

Right got over the weekend, by keeping myself real busy and not watching TV or using comp much. Did suffer from the shakes but thats a small price to pay for good health. I have found that I want to eat everything in sight, so I have bought half of the fruit stock from ASDA and instead of eating rubbish every 10mins i will have an apple, orange or a bannana. I noticed only after the second day that I had more energy due to the lack of co2 in my system and felt more refreshed throughout the day. Its the 4th day today, I went to see the nurse this morning to discuss treatments available. After a chat I have come away with both patches and this inhailer thingy. These 2 combined can almost remove the craving/habit effects which occure. The nurse told me that different people react differenty to the sudden revoval of nicotine from there system. She also added that nicotine is more addictive than heroin and the "cold turkey" period should not be takin lightly.

Plan is to keep using the patches for the next 2 weeks and try to ease of the inhailer asap. Fingers crossed, its only been 4 days but for someone who's every day routines involves cigarettes for the last 15 years this 4 days seems like 4 years.

The "northern" sort of course ;)

I'm on day 24 now, done it the hard way (no patches/gum) and I really feel like all the cravings have gone now :). Definitely got more energy throughout the day, and can catch my breath a lot quicker at work after a session of heavy lifting/carrying.

I am drinking a hell of a lot more spirits though . Lungs getting better, liver getting worse...

Oh well, keep it up Dave!! :D :D

I was wandering how long it would take for you to mention that.

Anyways guys I have cracked it. Iam only on the patches now and not the inhaler. Only think bout smoking first thing in the morning which this desire is slowly wearing off. I went out to watch the man-u game last night, all the boys were smoking like chimneys but it did not bother me in the slightest. It did however smell different than what I can remember  . If I can resist or not even long for a ciggy all night sitting in a pub then I think I have deffo cracked it. 2 more weeks on the patches and that’s it. We did however have a race to the chippy afterwards and I came last, well its only been a week what do ye expect. :D

More energy, look and feel healthier, dont smell of ashtrays......I should of done this years ago.

Well done Dave - the first six weeks are the hardest.

Every day you will start to feel a bit better, then you will do something quite energetic and not get out of breath or break a sweat and then you will feel real good.

I smoked for 15yrs before giving up 3 1/2 years ago - feel incredible for it, put on a bit of weight to start with but that soon came off when I realised I could exercise without having an ambulance standing by.

Do anything BUT light one up.

still smoke the green - it is a different world without baccy!
