intercooler sprayers

Featured Replies

http://www.turbobits.co.uk do a kit that looks a bit better suited to the 300zx, that spray bar would not be much good for the zed IC's (plus you would need two!!)

You could make a kit for about £30 if you were that way inclined...

Its my pet project at the mo, but have you thought about injecting water into the engine? I have got a kit and will fit it soon.

let me no how you get on mark

OK, we will probably do my sons 200sx first, he has a T3 and lots of boost to cool. Keep an eye open for my thread.

Mark, this might be a daft question ? but what will the implications be on the amount of water that will need to be carried to the gain that cooling will get......if you know what i mean.

Bhp gain to wieght needed to carry..

Edit :slap: myself for not reading links. You only need a small amount of water to carry Doh

I have another question- what are the pros and cons of water injection vs intercooler spray? Is it that intercooler spray is easier to implement, but water injection is more efficient with high boost?

Intercooler spray is way less efficent at cooling the incoming air/fuel mix, I think it would use many many times more water too. Injected it is atomised, so the amounts are small. Many cars use the washer bottle, and if you set it to inject at about 9 psi, standard max boost, how long would you run higher boost than that? several minutes yes, but not that long. Injecting water also cleans the engine, and I think reduces polution too. See http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/january04/300zx/ they run 14psi on poor yank gas with no detting. and no chip.

Hi Andy, the pump shown looks just like mine. I have bought two kits now, one was £170 and one £127, same kits. Came with adjustable boost switch and solenoid to switch off the water, pipes relay etc, in fact about the same as the kit shown. But no tank. And 30-50 extra horse's by pouring in some liquid sounds good.
