I think I know the answer to this..but worth a try.....Does anyone know if the Phase 2 Heater control unit with its Airflow direction buttons (which the Phase 1 lacks) would fully work in a Phase 1 car?

I always wondered this too - after all the heating systems are probably similar, isn't it just the contol panel that is different?

I'm pretty sure that KrisMayo and myself tried this out but it didn't work.

No it didn't, i read somewhere that you need the Ac ECU aswell for it to work

It's here but in Japanese. However, I think the pictures will give you an idea! And, yes, you do need to swap the ECU as well.
