Mintex pads????

Please help anyone, I've just purchased some mintex rear pads. They are identical to the ones I've removed in size, shape etc, but two of them have a pip and a springy clip about 20mm long sticking out from the back of the pad.

Jus wondering if anybody has come across this, is it meant to be there or shall I just file the pip and remove the clip YourZZZZZ

replies mucho gratizzzzzzz!!!!

Not sure..but is this just not the replacement clip for when you remove the pins to put the pins back in.

Jonny,

Not sure, but I think you are describing the 'Wear indicators'! I believe the pads with the wear indicators go on the inside of each wheel/set. There job is to cause brake screech as an indicator of the brake pads status - thin - and that a change is required! But I could be wrong!

OK guys sorted it out. Took the old standard nelson pads out. On inspection they had no pips, clips and my new mintex ones wouldn't fit in anyway, so I took the pair to work and groung them off with the angle grinder, lovely jubbly........

Just a quick note, the wear indicators go on the offside side of the disc. In other words, on the right hand side of each disc looking from the back of the car forwards..... The right hand side have the wear indicators on the outside of the disc, the left hand side have the indicators on the inside of the disc.
