Just won a set of new Z32 A'pexi BOVs for £180 plus P&P off Ebay. They're coming from the US so I may get clobbered for duty and VAT but we shall see... Well chuffed with the deal anyways..

Has anyone who has installed these on their Zed offer any tips or is it really a piece of p!ss? Will I need special pipes/hoses for these (hopefully supplied)?

Fingers crossed...

Thank God........... Its Not Just Me

Well You See, Been Handy With A Big Hammer Helps. ....or

What I Did Was To Unbolt The Canister So There Was Enough Space To Get The Ally Pipe In But Also To Do That I Had To Bend The Bracket Back Around The Pipe Iself Like A Corkscrew, If You See What I Mean. I Didnt Cut It Off Because I Didnt Know If It Was Actually Going To Fit. But Now That I Know It Does I Would Suggest That You Cut Off The Bracket Altogether

If You Have A Angle Grinder To Hand. Trust Me It Will Work Any More Probs Giz A Shout.

Richard

lol - thanks Richard. I was thinking of cutting off the bracket, but like you I was worried about it fitting once I'd done that! Will take a look tomorrow bud!

FFS - I give up! I have cut the bracket off the driver's side pipe but the angle of the BOV means that the vacuum pipe on the tip is pressed hard up against my 99 spec front mesh  I think the only way to get it installed properly will be to buy some 30mm silicone hose from somewhere (Smithy?).

Meanwhile, I'm going to put it all back together and run one BOV and one recirc. Shouldn't cause any problems as they are independent...

No probs Rich - there is no way it can be fitted with the bracket attached. I spoke to Chris (GetGreddy) earlier in the week and he seems to think it's a UK car thing. MarkZX seems to have done something clever with the hose angle on his one. :(

I'll keep you posted...

Steve,

It HAS to be a UK issue, as we discussed ten's of these have been fitted onto J Spec Zeds with no worries what so ever, very strange.

The number of different parts/designs in UK/J Spec parts does seem to be a lot more than people think

Steve, as far as i've seen and aware UK/Jap spec intake and I/C tracts are the same as are the re-circ valves plumbing, only differences are the about the cooler on a UK, if Mark's fitted, really yours should too, what you hoping to achieve with a piece of silicone if the Bov is sticking out too far and hitting yer mesh fella ?

Gotta be said, it may cost more, but sticking any BOV's in the engine bay is far easier and looks well too :nana2:

cheers

Thanks fellas! I've had a closer look at Mark's pics and I'm going to try to get this sorted today. If it works, I may not need the silicone Paul - will let you know as soon as poss bud! Don't go searching for any just yet!

And Our Survey Said...................

Will be having a final push later this evening to see if I can sort it :( If you unbolt the black canister, surely it's movement is still resticted by the metal pipes it's connected to..? I've not actually unbolted it yet as it's aircon related..

Hurrah! Got 'em installed courtesy of Jock and an angle grinder  Cut pipe at first bend and plumbed it straight into engine side pipe. Top of BOV connects directly with small factory vac line. The electric fan sits nicely between the BOVS. Job jobbed!

Many thanks to everyone who has offered help and advice on this one!
