Well, After blowing the HGs back in October my Z is finally back on the road and judging from the 100 or so miles I drove her tonight, going very nicely indeed.
All in all I had the engine replaced, heater matrix fitted, R32 brake discs, new brake pads, new rear bushes, new clutch, speedo fixed, a 60k mile service (inc. cambelt) carried out. That's following a new centre propshaft bearing and some front bushes which Jeff fitted for me in September.
I must thank the people who made it happen. Dave C for supplying a replacement engine, Andy Z for various essential bits & pieces, Ryan at ZTech for rushing me a set of bushes just before Christmas and most of all Martyn Butler for practically rebuilding my car whilst in the middle of moving house!
I'd also like to thanks you guys from the forum (especially Mujina!) for all the advice and encouragement given over the past few months. I couldn't have had a worse start to my Z ownership but with your help (and an ungodly injection of cash) I now have a rather tidy car which shouldn't need any major work for a long time.
I'm now looking forward to getting through those first 1000 miles of running in the engine so I can really start to explore the potential of the Z ;)
