Silly question does the timing belt need to be removed to replace the waterpump and other ancilary belts? just the timing belt was replace very recently and I'd rather not mess with it if I dont have too!! :D

 

Also is courtesy the best place for waterpump and belts?

you do not need to replace the timing belt when doing the water pump :)

But, if they werent done with the cambelt, you should replace the thermostat and the two top water hoses, while all the bits are off. :)

Yep belt can stay on :) DEFFO replace the 2 water hoses behind the upper rad pipe at the very minimum!!! Thermostat is so cheap to replace you may as well do it anyway.

Who did your cambelt?

 

The normal consensus here is to replace the waterpump, thermostat, 2 stupid little water hoses and remaining drive belts with the cambelt change as these all need to come off anyway to do the belt.

 

I didn't know this at the time either and sure enough, a month after a new cambelt my water pump went and one of those stubby hoses sprang a leak :o
