Guys,

I've spoken to Danny (smoothdude). The symptoms are as follows:

When driving for 20 mins or so the car just cuts out (sounds like PTU right ?).

However , when turning the ignition back on nothing electrical works i.e. lights, wipers etc. If Danny disconnects the battery ad leave it for some time and then connects it up again the car starts up ok.

At first I thought that the alternator may not be charging the battery but then this would not explain why the car comes back to life after disconnecting for a while and then reconnecting.

Once thing I forgot to ask you danny was, do you have an alarm with an immobiliser on the car ? This could be faulty and cause the car to cut out.

Anyone else got any ideas or suggestions for Danny ?

hmm, sounds like its loosing an ignition feed somewhere. poss poor contact at the ignition switch?

Thanks Stewart,

Yes I have an alarm with an immobiliser, but I have never had any problems with it. I will have someone look at the wiring of that as well. Thanks.
