Reading through a brochure for the uk 300zx and it has a 0-60 time of 7.0 secs? plus it also has the car down on power over the manual.

Are the any differences in power between a UK and Jap Auto? Im sure mine aint that slow.

LOL!! there have been so many different 0-60 times & power figures for uk/imports, manual/autos, TT/NA's that i think they just make them up as they go!!

dont worry about printed figures & go enjoy :)

Good comment ;)

There is actually a power difference between auto and manual. The cams are different and also the turbos slightly smaller on the auto. All this does is move the power band so it can be used more effectively by the autobox. Basically slightly less peak power but slightly better torque spread... :)

is that like choclit spread?? :D

i left the brochere at home but i think it said 163bhp for the Auto. Torque was down too.

i hope you mean 263bhp!!

No, its an auto remember  ;)

:rofl::rofl: Enough said :nana2: :nana2:

Im pretty sure the manual is a couple of tenths slower to 60mph....and then the auto is a couple of tenths quicker to 100mph.

...and I've seen as good as 5.2 secs tested, for a Manual UK TT in a magazine review somewhere.

not that 0-60 really means anything, and there are so many other factors that can affect it each time.

7.0 secs, would that be in reverse gear though ?

I 'eard 5.7 for the auto, 5.6 for the manual.

There used to be a full Brochure for the 300zx on Z32.com and it gave the

0-60 times for Jap & UK models just as you got them Pete. + it proclaimed the Manual produced 288bhp and the Auto 282bhp. While the 0-60 times for US spec was 5.6 and 5.5 respectively and power at 309bhp for manual and 302bhp for auto. Having said all of this, Z32.com is a US/Jap site.

There was a full 99spec Brochure too and that gave the same 288bhp and 282 bhp figures.

Then again I may have drempt it

Check to see it definately says Twin Turbo as that sounds about right for a normally aspirated Z.

In max power they quote that time as well but it was for the na even though they said it was TT. Could be a misprint lol !.

They aren't slower at all. Most manufacturers quote figures for auto versions of all cars as being slower than manwells. Usually for "normal" cars autos will be slower, but the ZX TT has a good auto set-up, keeping performance near identical to the manual. The old Mk3 Soop Turbo was actually quoted the same by ToyMota for both auto and manual - again there was no actual difference.

I don't reckon they actually test the auto version to obtain true figures. Manufacturers most probably test the basic model without optional extras - independent tests by magazines etc are more reliable.

Richard ;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Deffo Twin Turbo as its a UK Nissan 300ZX Brochure and you could not buy a NA here.

i remember when i first got the ZX, after the initial thrill of having a new car i decided to do a 0-60 and couldnt beat 7.5  then i got hold of this same brochure which stated 7.0 secs for the auto. this REALLY peed me off as id spent £6k on a 3l TT and it was barely faster than my old cav!!! :( :headvswal :headvswal :wack:

anyway i took it to a mechanic (for a checkover and basic mods) and we found out that there was a major oil and boost leak. afterwards i was enjoying 5.5secs (emphasis on the word enjoying) and now after a few more mods its even faster.

oi love moi zard
