I still have a weird vibration on my car, even though I've changed the wheels and tyres. Is there anyone in the north west I could visit who knows anything about this sort of problem. I need to get it fixed asap.

Symptoms = a road speed vibration that starts at 30mph, doesn't come from the wheels, seems to be just an overall 'buzz' that can rattle the windows. It is worse as you go faster but takes a slight rest at 70 mph. It is a fast buzz rather than a shake!

I had the prop shaft centre bearing done a few months ago and it was fine after that. But it stared about 3 weeks ago after I hadn't driven it for a few weeks.

I'll come to you and pay costs and coffee

have you had a 4-wheel alignment done istill have slight vibration even though iv had prop bearing and tension bushes changed

even sticky brake calliper/piston can cause a slight vibration

id get a 4 wheel alignment first ;)

Greg..ta..I can get that done. I'll be back!

No vibration though the brake pedal means that it's not the brakes.

No Vibration though the steering wheel sterring wheel means it's not the front wheels.

Starts at about 30 mph most noticable around 50 - 60.

Sound right ?. If so , it could be Rear Wheel bearings.

It seems I need to see aspecialist Zed guy. Thanks for all the advise guys

Chris

I have the same problem with mine chris, except I have only had my zed for a month, its driving me crazy coz I cant drive it Im well P****d off at the garage that I bought it from they have had it in twice, its had a prop shaft bearing done, and they have tried the rear gearbox mount and a set of skyline wheels and drawn a blank, now they have told ME to go away and find out what the problem is, even though the car is under warranty!!

My vibration starts at 40mph and goes on till about a ton, but when the car is cold its a bone shaker, unbearable,

If you get any ideas can you PM me and let me know, before I drive the damn thing through their showroom window!!!!

ive had this problem before on another car,i put the backend on blocks so that the rear wheels where about 10" off the ground, started the motor not forgetting to chock the front end from rolling, then got my mate to go through the gearbox in all rev ranges finally pulling about 3000rpm in top gear, then get under the fukker and by feeling around the body and drive-train you could probally trace the vibes, but for christ sake beware of rear wheels and the propshaft. best left for when all traces of narcotics and booze are out the system after xmas(lol) anyway good luck

probably better to get an expert to look at it, this could spell disaster in more than one way, Ie death or you may end up loosing your rear wheels . Because there will be no weight on the rear wheels as well you may not get accurate results anyway.

Try getting the wheels balanced Wolfgang. Also to the other boys it could be the top suspension arms vibrating. I had this on my car and this cured 90% of it.

Have you checked your crankshaft pulley is tight and that the rubber damping isn't split?

Oh botheration..now I'm REALLY confused!

i cant see it being crank so id rule that out do cheapest first mate ie..wheel balance and get bearings checked

Ok. If you rule out the crank pulley then make sure all the bell housing bolts are tight.

If it has the box out at some time then its a good place to start looking.

Was it like it befor you had the Prop bearing done? Might be something amis there mate.

No it was fine before and it was fine for 1 month after the prop shaft bearing was done

You haven't said if you have had a 4 wheel alignment check done. If not try this site to see if there is a local recomendation to you.

At least it explains about suspension etc.
