Is it really such a nightmare to do the cambelt as Ive heard from some people.Ive done loads of other belts/chains on cars and bikes but I dont want to start and find I need a special tool or something and end up stuck.Ive looked at the TT tech section and they reccomend doing everything else when your down there like water pump seals and other things.Has anyone done it and have you got any "Top tips"

Theres also a free cup of Mellow birds for anyone volunteering to come and do it for me.

See ya

Paul

The only advice I have (see the Underdrive pulleys post)... this is a great time to go for an underdrive pulley if you are thinking of getting one.

The other advice, get all your 60k parts from Courtesy Nissan in the states and save yourself quite a few quid.

Dave Marley? Do you still have the list of all the parts required (and part nos). I'm going to get mine done in another 5k...

Cam belt change aint to bad mate.

Just make sure you take all the right precautions and take your time about it, the reason it scares most people is that if you get it wrong you are liable to kill your engine.

Have a good read of the manual and the Tech pages on TT.net which is more geared up for the full 60K the one on zhome.com is better for just the cam belts, however the pics are off a NA, there aren't too many major differences tho.

Doing the Cam Sprockets and Front main Seal

are a little more difficult so i would think if you really need them doing now! Taking the Radiator and Fan off is a absolute walk in the park so if you need to do it later on you are not exactly going to be wasting too much time. Same goes for the water pump.

Hope that helps mate, i'd come up and help ya but i aint even got time to do my own at present, hoping to get a couple of days of in about a week and a halfs time.

Jez, I have still got the list I think, but it's at home. I'll post it tonight.

As I've been on holiday and various other reasons, I still haven't go round to doing mine yet! So if you want me to order 2 lots of everything, I can.

My car has 49,000 miles on but the reason I want to do the belts is because I will be getting an underdrive pulley delivered from SGP soon so it might as well get done all at once.

Ta Dave,

No rush, I have another 6-7k to go before my deadline. every 50k. I guess normally all the belts get replaced too. If that's the case I should get the right size underdrive pulley belts again!

Jez.

This is the information I have. Can anyone think of anything else. Also, back to spark plugs, which ones should I order for an imported TT?

Hi Dave,

I've been running NGKPFR6B-11C in my jap import for about 20k now with no probs.

Quick question do you have a rough price on how much everything would cost when you get it through Courtesy Nissan?

Cheers,

Trev.

No idea I'm afraid, Trey.

I'll email Vince at Courtesy over the weekend and let you know what the total cost is. I imagine that the shipping will be a lot though.

I'll try and get him to give me a list of 'standard' 60k items with prices so that other people can just order the whole 60k package in one go.

You can get the pricing at Courtesy Nissan via

a form in the Tech section of my home page.

You can enter multiple part numbers there as well. Just separate them with a space.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Maciej.

Are those discounted prices as good as the tt.net discounts available through Vince? If so it's much easier ordering through the website than trying to get Vince to answer an email...

No, they are not as good.

The price you see there is with a 20% discount.

You get 25% as a tt.net member.
