Could someone shed some light on this for me please:

 

On a cold start up (left over night) the Hicas light comes on and stays on until the car gets warm ???? then doesnt come on again and this is the only time it does it when the car is fully cold????

course it is no probs 07968 166640 , have you checked your power steering/hicas fluid level may just need a top up

Mine does exactly the same. I think it is on until the first time it 'activates'. Will check my levels as well. Did you solve yours?

scortbot, u need to top up ur power steering fluid. low fluid level causes this 95% of th time

Baggins and ya5een are right - the fluid shrinks slightly more than the container so when it is a) low and b) cold, the level drops below the minimum until everything warms up.

I have the same thing, I have a slow leak so have to top up with ATF every 9 months or so ;-)

I've got the same problem. I know I'm a little low in the fluid department. I've bought some Castrol Dextron 3. Can I jst top it up or should I drain the system and do a full fluid replacement. Sorry for asking silly questions :smash: but I want to be so careful with my pride and joy...
