I have just heard from the people who are organising the event that JAE 05 will not be at Billing Aquadrome this year but is being moved to the East of Engand Show Ground

The date has also been moved forward to the 22,23and 24th of July.

In view of this anyone who has booked hotel accomadation and time of off work already needs to cancell any arrangements made for the last weekend of July that JAE has always been on held on in the past

The Organisation's rationale behind this move is:

 

a/ The capacity of JAE is now overwhelming for Billing Aquadrome

b/ Lack of support in Marshalling and Security

c/ Too much reliance on Billing Aquadrome means insufficient control for JAE

 

With the above in mind, JAE 2005 will have a new venue, The East of England Showground. This is a secured venue, large enough to hold ALL car clubs/traders and have a designated camping areas. The area that is dedicated to JAE is flat, grassed and with some hard standing areas. There is a speedway track with grandstand. There will be three main gates for entry and exit which have been split into Clubs, Traders and Public. Public parking will be in the general carpark. This reduces any chance that they park on clubs or traders stands. With the space provided by the new showground we can significantly increase the space allocated to all the cars. that means the squeeze of recent years will now be a thing of the past.

the Z Club will be attending JAE but in view of the move is there any mileage in having a seperate Z/ZX weekend at Billing with just Z car clubs attending

not sure what is at the showground and not sure if you could get in there early to set up

Jae is to big for billing now and has to move away

but i love Billing and all the things that are there to do and you can stay as long as you want and arrive as early as you want

IF there is a joint meet will be going to both JAE and the Joint meet

A lot of hard thinking has gone into this and it was not an easy decision. One of the criterai (and there were many) was to keep it as local as possible to Northampton. The distance to the new venue is not very far at all. All things considered this is a MUCH better venue

I have been talking to some other people about other events at Billing Aquadrome. These are still in the planning stage and I know some people on the 300ZX forum are already involved. We all like Billing and want to use it again. But if the shoe don't fit...........

Maybe because nothing is set yet. You know what it's like...... you say "we are thinking of....." and before you know is a defo, it's confirmed and the Royal Marines have been booked to play the march past. :D :D

This sounds like a great idea to me ;) but then I'm only a short drive up the A1 from there. :tongue:

The venue is quite big, with very good access straight off the A1. I've been there a number of times for various shows etc, and do beleive it's a good place.

Now a joint meet at Billing would still be a good idea if it comes off.

Either way I'll defo be there at JAE2005 :D after all I've gota show off all my new work ;) :nana2: :dance: :nana2: :dance: :nana2: :dance:

Damn, Billing was only about an hour away from me!

Still go though, just need to save more cash for the optimax!
