Had a very bad one last night, hit a motorbike head on after he was overtaking on my side of the road.

All happened very fast but all I remember was seeing a light which seemed like it was in mid air - it was the bike coming over the brow of a slight hill and on a slight right hand bend. Huge bang and then the whole right hand side of the car came in on me.

I was stuck in for a bit - they cut the door off to get me out so I didn't see the bike or rider, but apparently he is serious but not life threatening thank god. At the time I was certain he would not live through it.

I luckily have just cuts & brusies and a little bit of damage to my eyes as I got a lot of glass in them, testamnet to the strength of the Zed.

My pride & joy is absloutely wrecked and I don't know where it is as yet. Hopefully I can get some other belongings out of it but I am so gutted that all my mods will most likely be lost, as the car is fully comp etc and I will just get the agreed value back.

Not much I could do about this, but take care out there folks it can happen to anyone.

Glad you're Ok. Shame about the car. Hope you manage to have a good Christmas!

Hi Alex I'm glad that you are OK. Remember we get carried away with these cars, but thats it. They are just cars and you can only enjoy em if your OK to do so.

With regard to all your modes and wrighting your car off. Well you can tell them you want it repaired or what ever you want to do, because it is your car not theirs until you agree to a settlement. If you want all your bits off it you go and get them (if they are all declared and you agree a settlement to wright off the car, an amount would be removed from the figure , but I assure you it would be peanuts. In other words you'd get about the same) + as will most likely be the case. If you get to your car and anything is missing, tell the garage where it is that you want it back or you'll get the Police involved.

UNTIL YOU ACCEPT AN AGREED FIGURE IN WRITTING THE CAR AND ALL BITS ON IT ARE YOURS. FACT!!

So make sure you let the insurance company know that you know that + the garage where it has gone. A friend of mine had his car recovered and before he agreed a figure the insurance company dispossed of it. He went to a good solicitor and they ended up paying nearly 3 times its value.

Another friend had his car recovered after so guy bashed him of the road. He went down to the garage next day to find out that they'd removed his dp Turbo charger kit, Apexi induction kit, Exhaust, Boost controler and Exhaust. (Saxo) £5K's worth.

I told him to see same guy Pet saw. They had to replace every thing from New + all labour and fitting charges to his new Saxo.

If you don't know ya rights you'll get Rogered.

Again thanks to all, cheers for the advice as well Mark ZX will bear it in mind.

Not heard anything from anyone yet apart from the legal team on behalf of my Insurance, but I haven't got any reference numbers or details to give them.

Going to ring / stop by the police tomorrow to see if they can give me at least an incident number etc and tell me where my car is.

Eyes have repaired themselves well, most of the cuts etc have healed apart from the one on the bridge of my nose - off to ENT specialist at hospital tomorrow but will most likely get them to look at my sore throat (not accident related!) above anything else.

I've been driving about, bit nervous but best to get back on the horse I suppose.

Again thanks to all, cheers for the advice as well Mark ZX will bear it in mind.

I had a bad one a few years ago when a Renault pulled out a side street and knocked me into a truck. Had to cut me out my TR7. Felt really apprehensive the next time I drove, especially every time I approached a junction, but the feeling goes away after a while, and your confidence returns. My mates said it deserved me right for having a TR7 !! :)

Keep well mate,

Alan......

Cheers, I am going to see my car tomorrow so will buy a disposable camera and see if i can get them on a CD to upload over Xmas.

Only just caught this post, must have been sleeping.

Really sorry to hear this Alex, good to hear you came off pretty much ok though.

WTF was the biker playing at?? Sounds like he overtook on a blind bend/hill.....HHHHMmmm!!! :mac1:

Like MarkZX has said, I am sure your mods wont go to waste, although I guess you cant replace the time spent on a car......realy sh1tty news mate.......

Hope this doesnt darken your spirits for Xmas and the new year though.

Go out, get fooked, and inthe new year, start to plan your new 300 ro the repair to your existing car.....maybe its a blessing in disguise, time for a bodykit??

Bets of luck with everything and Merry Christmas!! ;)

Well done for driving again straight away, when I had my Spine bending accident a few years ago, I felt the same. It's just a little nervous feeling you have, and it DOES go away. So don't worry about that. All the best mate.

Went to see my car today, was a bit of a shock seeing it again although it was not as bad as I remember as the slavage place has pushed the wheel back to roughly where it should be and bent the door back into position (sort of). There was also plastic sheeting covering the winscreen and drivers window so this also lessened the effect - was actaully pleased to see thay had done this as I was worried about mositure damaging the stereo, seta etc which I may yet try to slavage.

Thankfully the place where it is being stored is very professional despite being in the middle of nowhere, full log of my personal effects, log of my visit etc. I am happier now as I was worried about some of the more 'select' items of my car going walkies.

Got some pics which I am going to get on a CD so will try to post them up tomorrow.

Yeah do that mate, as much as it'll hurt us all lets have a look! :(

Not as much as you though! :(
