Got a parking fine on Sat and really pissed off with the private parking company, it said on the fine if i don't return the fine they can get my details from the DVLA, is this right can any company get my home address from the DVLA?

I was parked just over the white line due how easy it is getting out of a Z

was this on a public highway?...or some private car park/road...?

as to the dvla giving out details they may be able to make the list avaliable to authorised bodies not sure if this extends to private ticket companies....but if you're worried phone them (DVLA) and ask...if it turns out to be BS then call trading standards about the ticket

Private car park, just spoke to the DVLA and they can get my details from my number plate, how bad is that that any company can get my home info, what happened to the data protection act?

yep. They can get your details an always have been able too.

The DVLA will give you the address of the owner from the number plate for £7 if they deem the reason nessicary.(spelling :()

There is debate whether this method of parking fine is legal, as they just film you with a camera and then send the ticket later.

Also they claim that pulling into a certain street you are agreeing to a contract which will be posted up some where on the street. But again there is argument whether this is legal or not.

It was on watch dog a few months ago.

i dont think the ticket you got could be enforced in the same way official local authority parking fines are issued i.e. via the TEC at the northampton county court...it is more likely they would file a small claim...if you dispute it you could get your say in your local court or via the claim form...then again they may drop it as per the question of legality of charging folks for parking over a white line in a private place
