Hey all,

Well after nearly cooking my engine and warping the heads, which at this point in time everything seems ok, i discovered that the immeadiate loss of coolant causing the said near meltdown i need found a hole in my rad the size of a 50p piece, nice!

Therefore i need a new rad so what are my options, ranging from bottom range basic nissan OE replace ment, to mid range ally rad to top notch koyo style jobbies. people experience with any would be appriciated.

i need to make a choice asap as my zed is my daily runner, and im currently using a jag xjs v12 convertable or a 306 td. again...nice!

anyway options and opinion wanted and needed.

cheers lads and ladettes

If you want something cheap, take a look here. I've upgraded to a Koyo and am well pleased - got it at a good price though from a member who didn't need it anymore... ;)

I'm after a new one mate. I don't want to take any risks. Cheers though. Anyone else got any suggestions

UK Europe stock ones have some 20% more cooling than the Japan home market ones - supposedly to allow high speed autobahn running. A good second hand one or a recore with good ends should be plenty good.

When mine went i had one custom made by Serck,s . The core is at least twice as thick as a standard rad and its made out of brass, should outlast the car!!!.

The cost was about £230 , good thing about them whilst making it they can solder in any bosses to take aftermarket temp guages.HTH

Koyo all the way, abaout the same price as a OEM one if you buy new but its sooo well made and is alot bigger and just slots in no probs at all, you have to modify the brackets slightly or you can buy koyo brackets as well theres a few who sell them on here, your looking at about £300-350 for one

Smithy after looking at the one that ChrisC bought from the very same place,I have seen better quality from some of the things that Blue Peter have made,This rad was warped and NO WAY would I have kept it. It did not even compare to the Koyo.

I can only assume he went with the Howe after hearing of Koyo's problems with the necks snapping and unfortunately got a bad one from Howe, i certainly got no complaints and Vinces and Stuarts semed pretty good too.

Each to their own though eh :)

Each to their own yea too right, like I said his was a discrace to even send out!

Gotta say after seeing a few Koyo's on different Z's, thats where my hard earnt (no jokes please ;) ) will be going on!!
