saw this with a supra - very clever - the price of zeds is stupid - he should hopefully get more than £3k which is what he might get if he sold it straight.

Are these the same people that did this kinda a thing at Billing? At Billing 03 they advertised that if you did not win, and you phoned a number before a certain date, you could get your fiver back. However, and here is the catch, someone would have to be on the end of that line to answer the call.

Looks like it :mad: thing is you will not know how many tickets sold,so they allways say stuff like "did not reach required sales of tickets,so no winner,phone this number to get ya £5 back" i worked it out that if only half botherd to apply for the £5 back the *******s at billing 2001 and 2002 made at least £3000 each time(i wrote to a certain body about it and it did not appear in 2003 or 2004(the company was a well known importer at the time)

My only concern would be, it would be quite easy to say it has been won, and have a mate listed as the winner....money from ticket sales, and keeps the car...nice little scam there

To sell raffle tickets outside of a group of people, you have to have a licence from a local council or else it is illegal, believe me, i've done my research. The licence will cost £35 for a year, and then you can hold as many raffle's as you like, and to renew it is £17.50. So therefore, this raffle is probably illegal!!!

And dont worry about our Christmas raffle, it's all above board, so there's no excuses not to buy any!!!

thats why I'm fairly certain its illegal to do this, classed as running a lottery. My mate is currently setting up a website a little like best of the best ( you may have seen them at airports, raffling ferraris and the like) he's doing it with classics. There has to be an element of "skill" involved to not be a lottery hence the spot the ball thing (he is doing spot the champagne cork i think) an independent adjudicator has to choose where the ball/cork is and the closest to that spot wins. I've already asked him to fix it in my favour when his website goes live and got an emphatic NO!! :D

 

Im guessing there must be some kind of "get out" from these rules for you local charity fund raiser raffle...

Hey hey everybody stay calm,,its me who is selling the tickets on ebay for my zx,and the main reason is ,,,like what cj said i was not getting any reasonable offers for my car so thought i would try to raise a bit of extra cash this way..it is a genuine offer and when people want to purchase a ticket they need to answer a question correctly to be entred in the draw,for legal reasons...also my car has been outside bonnet 2 boot in romford where tickets have been selling well there so it looks like somebody will own my zx for a fiver dont take too much notice of the ebay ad it was just a trial to see how many people looked at the car,but there are only 2000 tickets up for grabs so better odds than the lottery thanks for taking so much intrest in the ad at least i know it works as all you guys are chatting about it
