Was flooring it past some golf gti this morning and went off my uk converted dial at 100 (180kph reversed), and it was off the needle then started what it felt like hitting the "limiter", I thought that converting the tachometer to UK normally gets rid of the limiter? Or am i talking rubbish?

I thought the limiter kicked in at 110mph which i seemed to have gone past!

Mine shows 120 on the clock when mine comes in, so I think there is a bit of difference between cars.

I'm running UK spec clocks, and am going to have the ECU chipped, that way it'll get rid of the limiter properly. Currently all you have is a converter from KMH to MPH, and not the de-limiter. Having the ECU chipped sorts this out, but you'll need UK spec clocks.

Have a word with AndyP, he'll sort it out for you.

Oh, and Robert, with 200 posts under your belt, and owning a Zed, subscribe mate, as you are getting the benifit of others :D

Robert,

On a Jap car the limiter is set in the ECU at 112mph (180km/h), speedo accuracy varies, hence peoples 'view' of when the limiter takes effect. I'm at home this weekend, and not so very far from you, so if you want the problem resolved them drop me a PM/email.

i must admit ive got no idea how fast im going most of the time..havent got a lot of faith in the speedo at all..we did do the typical drive alongside at certain speeds but i was 'doing it with the mrs' so to speak and i dont think she was all that clear about what i was trying to acheive!

Where abouts are you Andy sunday might be quite useful!

Cheers,

Rob
