Other half waz out in the Z 2day....and she noticed a red warning light flikering on the dash. although its not on constant. I've since looked in a uk handbook...but my z is a jap import and the warning light is not shown in the uk handbook...is there a site anywhere that shows what all the lights are 4 on a jap import dash...

Oh P.s the light looks like as a image of a back box or somthing on it with squigley lines above and pos below it...hope this helps

Cat overheat light. Means you're dropping a spark on one of the cylinders and unburnt fuel is getting to the cats. Check the coilpack connectors are seated properly ;) Oh and for the dash, check here:

Cheers 4 that Andy....Cud this be somthin 2 do with the JWT chip thats just been fitted...car seems 2 be runnin fine left a metro 2 nite even though i gave a 3 second head start at the lights....I was thinkin that a may have a wire loose sumware maybe on the cats as light is only flikering...If there was a prob with a coilpack connection would the light stay on all the time, and would the car run shite on five cylinders...

Hope u can reply soo matey its gettin dark outside

I suppose the chip could be running that rich that its overheating the cats but I doubt it. Maybe worth checking the ecu connector is seated properly...

Do you meen the actual connection on to the ecu andy or the connection/soldering on the chip

The big blue connector between the harness and ecu ;)

I hope that resolves the problem for you..

Cheers dudes.......Hows those big rear pipes doin mr tattoo

I haven't heard my big old Tailpipes for a while as my engine has blown up and the motor is gonna be gettin' a high Spec re-build over the winter.
