which bit have i messed up.

right boost jets. 1.0mm

took of the 2 inner main hoses that goto the throttle body.

directly below this is a small pipe theat connects to the same area as the main hose just i bit lower down where a petal pipe comes off. this hose seems to go along the side of the engine then dissapears down about half way along i guess to the turbos.

cut a section of this pipe out.

installed a section of blue silicone hose from smithy with boost jet in using inline connectors and some jubilee clips

put all other bits together.

checked using my tim guage and getting 0.7 - 0.75 bar

decide to redo so this time connect a longer piece of silicone tubing straight from metal pipe to where it was connected before to old pipe so have only one lot of connections. jublee clip the boost jet in place, fit back together.

go for drive, car feels much smoother and quicker and with foot off gas needle goes all the way to the left. but foot on gas get 0.65 - 0.7 bar boost.

what now

Possibly nothing.. if the straight connectors were creating a restriction in the pipe then they may well have been supplementing the boost increase created by the boost jets - so by removing one, you've effectively made your boost jet bigger, if you see what I mean..

At least, that's what I'd imagine has happened..

That or you've created a boost leak somewhere - try putting it back to how it was before (if you can) and see if the boost goes back up. If it does then you don't have a leak, you just need slightly smaller boost jets..

why dont you do what i sugested

use the jets as a conector a jubilee clip each side

or totaly replace the pipe youve cut and push jets in

steve

possibly mate but its just such a low boost for 1mm jets

Then I guess you best start checking for boost leaks ;) It's that or lazy actuators/inefficient turbos.. Or a knackered boost guage, of course..

there is a pst sound from right at the back of the engine by the ignition fuse box when i rev and little. is this supposed to happen

dont think i can completly replace the pipe as i cant see there it goes down towards the turbo's. maybe ive got the passenger jet in the wrong pipe...........

tim guage is brand new and my stock guage which seems accurate funny enough gives the exact same reading.

iff its now pulling more vacum (needle to the left) then you must have a leak, sometimes over-tight on the jublee clips can have a negative affect due to the splitting or going outer-round on the soft pipe
