Hi everyone, a newby to this site here but I had a 300zx about 13 years ago. It had to go as it would not fit the sons cot in. Now this is were i am looking for help! He is now grown up . I want another 300zx. But about 2 years ago we were stopped at lights when a aboy racer ran up my back side. ( i now drive a shogun) but my lad is really giving me Sh*t that if we go back to a smaller car and someone hits us again that he might get hurt again. So ... is there anyone local who might be able to let me/us see exactly how much of a beast and how much a super motor they are! This will (i hope) then make it easier as i am determined to chenge either way . Or are there any meets planned to which i could come along to . Thanks from Stew

come along with us to the next mascrat manor pub meet, think the next one will be 3 weeks tomorrow, its not a million miles from you and im sure there will be a few zeds there for you to slobber over aswell as other jap carnography.

Come down to the meeting in Warrington which is a general Japanese performance meeting. There is a large varity there for you to look at. :D

 

Also just because a car is large doesnt meant that it is safe. Modern cars are so heavy now, due to the safe chassis design and extra strengthening. I bet a new MINI will take a hard it from the rear better than an older larger car like a Mondeo or something.

 

Anyway, hope you can come down to Warrington on Monday 13th December.

If you need directions just ask, it is very simple. :D

 

I would take you out for a drive in my ZX but its just been rebuilt and can not be driven hard :(

Bout 7:30, any late and you will have trouble parking, it gets very busy

the meeting is at a place called Mascrat Manor.

 

Its just off the M6, Junction 20, about half a mile into the 40mph zone for the viaduct.

Leave the motorway and come to the roundabout. The pub is directly to your right so go all the way round the roundabout, untill you almost double back on yourself, and you are there.

I had a guy run into me from the rear, His car was a write-off, honestly the headlamps and bumper were on the floor, bonnet and wings folded, I couldnt believe it when i looked at mine, after wiping the bumper all the damage done was a cracked reg plate! not even scratches! -of course hair line cracks started to appear in the paint on the bumper a month or so later but it was in the bodyshop by then.

My Point - well all accidents are different and a shogun is not necassarily safer than a Z - it depends on the circumstances in the accident, chances are the next accident (should you have one) will be totaly different, your next one might involve swerving and braking on the motorway, which car would be better at this?

Wez ..My shogun is a 98 on a S plate lwb 2800 diesel, leather,50kmile, blue with roof lights.It is called the facelift (not the very latest shape but has its own pre formed wing bulges made between 97-00)
